Are any local stations running regular marijuana ads in the states that allow it?

CA,WA,CO ???

What about ads for the various support businesses like lighting and hydroponic suppliers?

You would think broadcasters would be fighting for those ad dollars...that all pay cash!

What has anyone seen?

Maybe on the radio, not sure about TV though.

Maybe on the radio, not sure about TV though.

I'm in Washington and heard local radio advertising for pot shops, which always end with the fast-pased rattling off of legal copy detailing the potential harms of marijuana.

The Washington state regulator's opinion on broadcast advertising:

May I advertise for cannabis on the radio and TV?

The law states that licensed marijuana producers, processors and retailers “may not advertise marijuana or marijuana-infused products in any form through any medium whatsoever within one-thousand feet of the perimeter of a school ground, playground, recreation center or facility, child care center, public park or library, or any game arcade admission to which is not restricted to persons aged twenty-one years or older.” The fine is $1,000 for each violation.

Although print media, such as newspapers, are often delivered to locations at or near schools, the LCB does not intend to enforce the 1,000’ buffer for newspaper advertising as long as the advertising does not violate other provisions of the law.

Television and radio, of course, carry across state lines as well as places where children can see or hear. TV and radio are also regulated by the Federal Communications Commission. Licensees should consult with their attorney and media-buyer or other advertising sales representative to ensure cannabis/related advertisements are permissible.

Licensees are prohibited from using advertising to expressly target out of state customers.

Any word how much the local and national “free advertising” was given to certain shops when medical marijuana and then recreational dispensaries became legal? A network would pick out a shop and stay there for a day or two and then maybe visit the growers. On cable each hit (pun intended) would mention the variety of options.
