ESPN+

Recommended Posts

ESPN+ is an over-the-top subscription service, provided by the U.S. sports broadcaster ESPN Inc. and Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. ESPN+ will carry sports content similar to ESPN's streaming service ESPN3 (which is exclusive to participating internet and television subscribers), and subsume some of its content.

The service will be delivered through an updated version of the ESPN mobile app, and be available with monthly, $4.99 and annual subscription, $49.99 options; some content will be available for free, while the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball's out-of-market sports packages will also be sold through the platform as add-ons. The service will also feature archive content and ESPN original documentaries.

The service is not intended to cannibalize ESPN's core linear networks, so it will not carry ESPN's core professional sports rights or offer access to ESPN's linear programming. ESPN+ will instead serve as a complement to them as part of the ongoing market trend of cord cutting and over-the-top pay television, with a focus on events such as boxing, college sports, cricket, rugby, soccer (including out-of-market Major League Soccer matches), and tennis.

From now until 04/19/2018, ESPN+ is offering a FREE 30 day trial presented by AMEX.

I'm actually willing to try this. $5/month? Can't be beat plus it will give me more college sports, rugby and soccer (including MLS and my Orlando City)? Sign me up.
