CircleSeven 1944
David Zurawik from The Baltimore Sun, who's been covering Sinclair for almost three decades said it best. The head of the company you were about to partner with for the last 15 months and the chair of the FCC are both calling you shady — and one of them is willing to take on the president of the United States who appointed him and the other is going to court to prove it in what is sure to be a long and costly process. And that is only the start of of Sinclair’s woes on this the first day of the rest of its corporate life after flying to close too sun and falling to earth in a ball of molten wax. Jase 818
I don’t know how long this plays out in court, but I suspect FOX stays away from Trib until it does, meaning they’re screwed in getting what they want out of this, potentially for a long while. If FOX is dead set on buying the stations they want from the Tribune, then they will simply try again (later this year/early next). The question is not if, but when. The cash cows (FX, Nat Geo, 21st Century Fox film division, etc..) are going to disappear soon, so they won’t be able to draw money/resources from them to help pay for stuff like this. And if Trib gets all one billion dollars out of this, that’s a lot of spending money and they could potentially become buyers. It seems clear that the owners/creditors of the Tribune don’t want to be in the TV biz anymore, so they won’t be buying anything. Whatever money they get out of this lawsuit will likely go to paying down their debt. The only thing I could see happening is that they become super lean (own just 5-10 stations) and sell everything else. But even that seems like a long shot. Chicago's Very Own 104
I'm actually shocked that they didnt blame liberals or Democrats in that release. Probably because it's obvious that they only have themselves to blame. Support from Trump, and a Trump-appointed FCC chair who was helping pave the way for them, and they still screwed it up. They've always been that way for years. All of the major OKC TV stations are located on the North side of OKC, also if you ever go by the John Kilpatrick Turnpike, there are all of the TV towers from the big four TV stations in OKC
tyrannical bastard 3444
Maybe after the midterms, Sinclair will burrow themselves into the ground just like they did in 2006 after the tables turned...and Mark Hyman's "The Point" commentary went away... Hopefully the judicial process will be well underway, and all of the scathing details will begin to be uncovered for all of the "fake news" outlets to proclaim....
