JCB4TV 330
Watch, Donnie will try to take away NBC's White House press passes only because he's still upset that the Peacock cancelled that show he had before be decided to trash western civilization. If I remember correctly, The Apprentice was on when Comcast bought NBCU.

TheRob 919
That is a concern, though, for those opposed to the deal, that the President would always take a personal interest, and order someone to find a way to force the deal to be approved. This is a man who wants to test the power of the executive. Remember, he wants to make administrative law judges political appointees.

Sad violin time. — Matt You'd think someone who is media savvy would know that comparing Sinclair's merger with Tribune to Comcast's merger with NBC is like comparing apples to oranges. And why is he responding to it a week after it was announced? Also funny how he just shredded any pretense Sinclair had about not being conservatively-biased. Eat News 4738
So why did the previous administration even allow this? Just 1 more thing... The FCC is doing it's job, and just fixing some of the messes of the previous admin. Does anyone think suddenly Sinclair is going to become left wing supporters? They still own a hell of a lot of stations....and will continue to do so even if the commish yanks a few tickets. Victory laps can be fatal. They still own a hell of a lot of stations....and will continue to do so even if the commish yanks a few tickets. Victory laps can be fatal. As overtly partisan as the commissioners are, it goes back to what Harry Jessell said in his op-ed on Saturday: that at the end of the day, broadcasters operate under the honor system when dealing with the FCC. Simply put, you can't lie to them, regardless of how much dereg takes place, that is an informal rule you can't break in any way. I still have my money on Sinclair having been told to just cool it with the M&As for the short term, lie low and not do anything attention-getting, for the purposes of getting off with just a fine and a ceremonial "admonishment." Yeah, they'll get off easy, but you gotta think realistically. The FCC has to make Sinclair and the other broadcasting groups happy, and that's really the best-case scenario for Sinclair when applying both precedent and political realities. And TBH, had the previous administration's FCC still been in charge, Sinclair would have never done anything this brazen and stupid. Allbritton had a number of issues, but Sinclair didn't try to, say, undersell WJLA to a friend of David Smith for pennies on the dollar.

The deal for Fox to acquire the stations from Sinclair may be dead, but Fox could still be able to reach a deal to acquire them directly from Tribune (and possibly with some stations not included in the original deal).
