Okay. Only 1 station has the graphics and the Super Bowl is 2 days away. Are they all planning to roll it out Sunday night? CBS did something similar on their big stations back in 2013 after the Emmys.

Speaking of the ticker (especially since I brought it up) but does anyone know how the weather and traffic information are updated? Do the weather and traffic systems export the data and the system choose the graphics, is there an alternate data provider, or all manual? I imagine manual updates would be annoying especially as they update current weather temperatures for about 12 different areas (imagine the forecast doesn't change) and the same goes for traffic which has even more. I want to say traffic is automatically updated. In the previous ticker you would see frequent text that look like it came straight from a data service. There'd be a category type field to the left of a more detailed traffic summary crawl would appear where an underscore would replace a space. It didn't happen daily but frequent enough. Unlike @Eat News complaints about the same data appearing at KGTV this was updated.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and predict that if any other Hearst stations debut the new graphics in the short-term, it'll be the group's other NBC affiliates

I can confirm that all NBC Hearst stations are supposed to be getting this look by the time the Olympics get underway.

Ditto. I think, at the very least, WBAL WLWT, WDSU and KCRA will debut the next-gen diagrid package when the first events begin Thursday or when the Opening Ceremonies take place on Friday (the Olympics this year is scheduled in an odd manner, so that a handful of events begin the day before the Opening Ceremonies, instead of the day after as usual). WGAL, WXII, WYFF and WVTM may opt to introduce them then too on either Thursday or Friday; WPTZ/WNNE I'm not so sure of.

WLWT aired a promo last night for their 70th anniversary, and in that promo included someone watching a newscast from their phone. It had the lower third and bug from the new diagrid look in there.

Turned on their news tonight and no new graphics at all!

They played us.

I'm not sure if that's sarcastic, but the use of the new graphics package in a promo when it hasn't debuted yet is odd.

Oh my gosh people. Once again, the new graphics are being rolled on Feb. 8 to NBC stations-- one day ahead of the Olympics.

Interesting, first I heard of this. I figured the stations would get them over time leading up to Feb 8. So why did WESH get the graphics so early?

First it’s been mentioned here.

You previously said by February 8 but not rolled on.

Here’s some assorted images from the Noon News. Sorry. On my iPad. They are still using some old Hearst gfx for a bit but I’m happy we got this. Even before WBAL!

Very nice. From what I can tell, no change to the News theme.

More later.

Actually, they seem to be using the new cuts that WESH is. Is this music update mandated?
