Morning Dose is replacing Eye Opener.

Tribune Broadcasting today announced the launch of Morning Dose, which it describes as a “first of its kind, live social wake-up show,” in partnership with Dose, a digital media agency that specializes in data-driven, shareable content.

Hosted by television personalities Melissa Rycroft and Brandon London, and news anchor Laila Muhammad, Morning Dose, will launch on June 29 and will feature news stories powered by Dose’s “social storytelling and scientific method to create and distribute content.”

The new syndicated show will air weekdays in six Tribune markets: KDAF Dallas, KIAH Houston, WPHL Philadelphia, WDCW Washington, WSFL Miami and KRCW Portland, Ore.

What's the point of Tribune introducing anything new when our Media Overlords at Sinclair are going to buy them?

Because until a merger is completed, both parties have to continue conducting business as usual as wholly separate and unrelated companies, because there is always a chance that the merger could fall apart, or be prevented from fully executing, at any time up until the transaction closes.

Sure, but that's literally not going to happen.

surely this next failed attempt by Tribune to create it's own programming will be come to be mocked as Morning Doze. So basically Eye Opener is History? When your best shot at a New Product is recruiting transient talent from DWTS it is sure to fail. Will the plug be pulled before Launch as was the National news? Tribune can't attract recognizable Talent which is why Steve Mosko would have to take a salary of Epic proportions to go there. Just a few years ago Katie Couric's name was tossed around as a possible "get" for a Tribune hire, seriously??? Someone tell Rich Graziano that was laughable. These Tribune and Sinclair lifer teams have never stepped foot in a REAL Broadcast Facility.

As for Sinclair, it's a cheap ready-made morning show that can be plugged into a junior duopoly Fox or CW affiliate, or an also-ran station with no news operation (KDNL, WNWO**).

Not only would they not cancel it, they'll use it as a basis for News Central 2.0. And there's nothing you and I can do about it.

**WNWO might as well not have a news department, period.

To spread the virus to as many others as possible...before the zombies feast.

I wouldn't be surprise if this show go's on CW7 once Sinclair & Tribune merger go's through. Sinclair is also getting into kids programming beginning on July 1 there block will air on a diginet and there CW & MYTV stations as well.

Allegedly, The Daily Buzz is being resurrected--not sure why Trib/Sinclair doesn't just poach that for a syndie morning show. It definitely has more name recognition.

Well, given the bad blood between Fisher/Sinclair and Mojo Brands (who owned "The Daily Buzz" and abruptly shut it down, then filed for bankruptcy...)

If "Morning Dose" fails under Tribune, it will fail as "NewsCentral 2.0" under Sinclair

"Peaked in High School" Emerson Spartz and these Morning Dose anchors are the quintessential "2nd rate people hire third rate people" Tribune philosophy. This Tribune "leadership" couldn't find it's way out of a paper bag, seems like at one point or another someone over there keeps thinking they are so superior that they are going to discover "the NEXT Oprah" - and they NEVER do.

And that's exactly what doomed "Eye Opener" and it will do the same to the "Morning Dose" and Sinclair isn't any better than what Tribune is at it and we all know what happened to "News Central" in the Early to mid 2000s.

Heh, wait until Sinclair turns it into a low-rent "Fox and Friends" but with double the political venom against anyone Not A Republican.

Sinclair will force it down lowly CW and MyNet stations and Fox duopoly partners as a cheapo filler that will get revenue anyway because it will be integrated into existing sister stations with established morning shows. You won't see it on WSYX, but you'll see it on WTTE 5-7 and WWHO 7-9, for example.

This show will be utilized in a way that it can't fail like NewsCentral did. Which makes it worse than NewsCentral, quite frankly.

I think Nancy Pelosi is a much bigger problem than Sinclair could be.

Priorities.

Look like she did...

And then they "choked"...

As an outside observer(not a dem or repub), I hope they don't change a thing.

Keep Pelosi as the leader...

Keep the message of Resistance going...

Continue to obstruct and block....

Keep the message on "Russia"....and Impeachment.

It's great entertainment in an Andy Cohen kind of way.

Seriously.....

Russia is kiddie table stuff.

Over at the adult table it's all about N.Korea.
