This could've been on International Out and About but okay. Interesting to see considering that CNN-FN shut down in 2004 and I don't know if CNN in the US would want to do that again.

This is not the same thing really as CNN launching a channel themselves. This is more of an international broadcaster licensing the CNN brand to use, sometimes with or without some financial partnership with CNN. There are a lot of CNN-branded channels worldwide, and typically, they contribute very little editorially to CNN US, CNNI, or CNN.com.

The English and French press releases both talk about the channel contributing to CNN Money, which has become a heftier site for business news recently, but neither of them talk about any sort of integration with CNNI's business or lifestyle shows. I would imagine there might be a little more overlap with CNNI and CNN Money Switzerland than there currently is with, say, CNN Indonesia, but for the most part, these CNN-branded channels are largely independent editorial operations.

Well, Mediago's CEO Christophe Rasch in a interview with french-speaking "Le Matin" said:

"Switzerland was an “ideal” location for a CNNMoney channel due to the nation’s high concentration of multinationals, international and sporting organisations, and institutes of higher education."

On Sonntagszeitung (german-speaking weekly) Greg Beitchman said:

"We will closely monitor the channel’s success. It is not ruled out that there will also be CNN Money channels in other countries, like we’ve launched local CNN International channels".

They will have 2 production centers, one in Zurich, and second in Geneva.
