John Roberts promoted to FNC Chief White House Correspondent

Beginning January 20th, John Roberts will take over the duties of chief �White House correspondent for Fox News Channel.

 

Roberts joined FNC in 2011 from CNN and before that, CBS News. Most recently, he covered the Trump-Pence campaign for the White House. Also, he anchored coverage of the 2012 Republican National Convention for the Fox Broadcasting Network and substitutes regularly for Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.

 

At CBS News, he anchored the CBS Evening News on weekends and served as CBS News' chief White House correspondent during the first term of President George W. Bush.

 

Most recently, the duties of Chief White House Correspondent were held at Fox News Channel by Ed Henry, who has since been demoted to Chief National Correspondent, Wendell Goler, Bret Baier, Greg Kelly (who is now at Fox O&O WNYW), and Jim Angle. Goler and Angle retired in 2014.

 

“John’s 30 years of experience and reputable journalism skills were showcased throughout his coverage from the campaign trail during the 2016 election season,” said Jay Wallace, EVP News, who made today’s announcement. “We are proud to welcome him to the Washington bureau and look forward to him leading the network’s coverage of incoming President-elect Donald Trump.”

Ahh and proving once again that life is cyclical...he was chief white house correspondent at CBS in the 2000s. I always liked him at CNN, even if he didn't have the best chemistry with Kiran Chetry in the later days of American Morning...

He's a good solid journo, who plays it straight-up.
