KHOU has had rejoins all along. It looks to me like they basically took the rejoin animation from the previous Belo package and overlayed the Gannett look. They have kept the same basic look since the first generation "KHOU Stands For Houston" package (the look that predated the Belo standardization): "Zoom to still photo. Zoom to next still photo."
