What's that name?

http://www.lex18.com/story/27621152/lex18-news-anchor-general-assignment-reporter-kristen-pflum

Hmm...a name change as we move to the big city? I googled her (new) name, looking for a demo reel, and most of the results were for a Playboy model/porn star.

Already off to a good start. :D

So tell us how was the demo reel you found?

Details would be good.

[...] blase cupich as "Soup-itch"

Like, as of it was 2 separate words? Otherwise, that just sounds like she emphasized the p on the first syllable.

Is it coo-pitch?

Soo-pitch. She was likely decently close.

I saw a few minutes of her this morning, and was not hardly as bad as I expected.

I thought it was Soo-pitch but the post made me reconsider... Thanks J...

I think maybe an emphasis on the P... She's not a seasoned veteran by any means, however, I suppose she's better than the awful Scott Schneider who subbed in the role until her arrival (he's also the 9 pm weekend anchor and a rising choice for Jeff's back-up)

It's spelt "Cupich" however most reporters pronounce it as "C-Pitch."

On second thought, I guess I can't really blame her for the mispronunciation because had it not been for the recent media w/ Cupich, I would probably botch it too.

Alan Krashesky says Soo-Pitch... I gotta believe he'd be getting it right...

Schneider isn't as bad as when he first started. Given time, he'll hopefully get better. Same can be said of Nicole.

Piacente is going to have his hands full when he starts next week. I could see him making this new newscast his pet project (which wouldn't be a bad idea). They really are going to have to offer up something drastically different to draw viewers in. Best of luck to them...

She just didn't do very well with WNBC and that hurt her. She's not a bad anchor though, this could be a good thing for WFLD because she has experience in a better newsroom than WFLD and maybe can add to the station.

Shiba Russell isn't headed to WFLD/Chicago, but WXIA/Atlanta instead. It's unclear if she was deciding between the two stations and picked WXIA or if WFLD wasn't really in the running. FYI: The weekend anchor job posting has been removed from WFLD's site which either means they won't fill it (any time soon) or they found someone (internally or externally). We shall see...

I still think it should've been at 6. They'd be against 3 stations instead of 4, including a very beatable WBBM. They'd also have the 6:30 half hour to themselves. Have Family Feud at 5 as the lead-in and a less-strong, but respectable primetime line-up as the lead-out, and they'd definitely get a few more eyeballs because of those other blocks.

Missed opportunity.
