Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

Recommended Posts

I saw this earlier this week. It appears that Sinclair has replaced its longtime "SBG" logo and placed its "SINCLAIR" in big letters on the header of its website. How uninspiring.

But the big shocker is that its shell Cunningham Broadcasting now has its own website, and it looks like Deerfield Media might be getting one too. But I'm thinking what's the point in making these website now?

To be fair, the SBG logo was very "90s corporate". This is only slightly better.

No. It looks like this was extremely rushed. Anyone can make a logo like that these days. I wouldn't even call "that" a logo. But as always, it's Sinclair we're talking about.

Interesting that the Cunningham contact address is the same as WBFF. Not exactly the best impressions you would want to make to make it appear that they are seperate companies.

When did they start operating WATM and WWCP? At last check, they never did.

I'll be curious to see what becomes of the Spectrum auction. There are lots of opportunities for frequency consolidation and for a shell to step up and "take over" a station or two.

That's probably why Cunningham has a website and Deerfield looks to have one in the works....

They tried to, but I thought that sale fell through.

Th sale fell through after Wheeler issued that "JSA Guidance" srutinizing deals with sharing arrangements. And this was before the JSA attribution rule came about.

Because of the "Guidance", they figured that the deal wouldn't get the greenlight, so they backed out.

WJAR apparently has been having alot of Issues. mostly malfunctions.

Those Dastardly computers. Anyways, they need major help there I've seen some of the malfunctions and at this point it's annoying.

Sad considering that WJAR has been #1 in Providence since forever.

Considering the competition, that shouldn't change anytime soon.

WPRI could overtake WJAR since they have a good enough product. WLNE, on the other hand, has no shot whatsoever.

I dont exactly see why you quoted my post. :)o_O

Because those computer problems could be devastating if not fixed and could cause WJAR to lose its top spot. I'd tell you, I wouldn't watch a newscast with problems continuing through it.

Saw TBD for the first time today. Five minutes of my life I will never get back. What are they smoking in Hunt Valley? They got rid of GetTV for this crap.
