Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

Sinclair is bragging about the "ratings growth" it has made by its must-run Sunday series "Full Measure With Sharyl Attkisson" (and some of the numbers they boast are hilariously bad!):

The best one are the WLOS numbers.

There was absolutely no change in the ratings for the 10:30am airing right before This Week. But hey, at least they had 100% growth in ratings for the 12am rerun after Joel Osteen.

It's one thing to keep viewers aware of what's going on in the world with things like ISIS and stuff like that, it's another to create a segment with ominous looking graphics and music to instill fear into your viewers into thinking that Trump is the only one that can protect them.

And as Oliver pointed out, the fact that they use stories about the burka ban in France which has absolutely nothing to do with terrorism just shows how the segment is supposed to just be that "Muslims are scary".

It's opinion pieces on both sides.

Both side are preaching doom and gloom.

and.....

Both are in the business to entertain and/or scare you....all for a profit.

So enjoy!

In all fairness to Sinclair, a 0.8 rating at midnight on a Sunday in a sleeper market is nothing to sneeze at--and the numbers it's getting in Vegas and Austin, of all places, are quite good.

That's a very conservative market too for the most part, so you'd think they would do better...

It's as if Vegas viewers didn't notice that KSNV went from a quite liberal owner in Jim Rogers and having left-leaning John Ralston as their chief political analyst to Sinclair, Boris Epshteyn, and Attkisson.

Speaking of Sinclair and Attkisson, I would think if they were in total confidence in the show, they would syndicate it to other stations outside their footprint. There's probably a number of network-affiliated stations run by conservatives that would like to add some "fairness and balance" to counter their network Sunday morning programming.

John Oliver targets a niche audience - liberals who pay extra to watch HBO. His monologue only resonated with them... and no one else.

I like John Oliver but he's not worth paying $22 every month for bad movies and Dungeons and Dragons with boobies.

I realized KPTM is using the FOX O&O Graphics but using convergence SAM for music. makes you wonder if they want to be a FOX O&O? then again KTVU and WHBQ uses an in-house version of those graphics. but if they are Sinclair owned, shouldn't they use their graphics? (Glass/Curves)

Well Sinclair hasn't updated some stations to Glass/Curves.

Yes, Sinclair went there.

They "apologized." Uh-huh. Riiiiiiight.

This tells you all you need to know about them.

If I may paraphrase Rihanna, "don't tell us you're sorry when you're not. Baby, when you know you're only sorry you got caught."

And my response is also not doctored.

Great!

Now the automation is racist !

Twice in the same show!!!

Oh Pray tell!

Heavens to mergatroid..

It's Trumps fault...JUST say it!

No people...This is what happens when you have children working in a "profession" that requires "adult" supervision.

This could have easily happened anywhere.

But you guys can blame the boogie man and Trump and those pet hamsters of Barons that were in that meeting with the sexy russian layyyer...boris and pals...hitler...ftvlive.

It can't just be a bad picture choice by a rookie producer?

How does anyone know the pic was not automatically generated based on a few standard keywords?

So since it's a Sinclair owned station then the mistake it racial in nature?

What a crock of poo poo.

I see a guy in handcuffs..who is not related to the story presented.

It's a poor choice for a picture...nothing more.
