How can ratings get any worse? They're already last in ever slot except 10pm. If you're that worried about the product changing that much, there's still WHDH.

the problem with HDH is they're not about reporting full facts or get into details. It's all about a rushed product. They spend more time perfecting the catchy slug. WHDH was more substance post News 7, but they are just as bad as WSVN today.

I think you make an interesting point and a topic for a much larger discussion.

As local news organizations continue to cut, the product becomes far weaker. Boston, once the prized market for journalism, has a much weaker product (across the board) than even five years ago. Remember, though, that the community can change that. If fewer people tune in, changes will need to be made. Boston is ripe for another shake-up. Whether Cox can successfully do it remains to be seen.

This thread has gone off the rails.

The deal closed a long time ago and perhaps it's time for this thread to close too... It's becoming a "catch all" thread for either station. Changes at either station can be put in their own threads, just like (almost) every other event in the TV industry gets around here.
