WGN-TV has finally appointed a president/general manager to replace now-WBBM president/GM Marty Wilke. Greg Easterly, who has served as president and general manager at WJW in Cleveland (now a sister station to WGN since Tribune's purchase of Local TV) and had formerly been news director at that station, has been assigned the position.

Unlike Greg's predecessor Mike Renda, he should fare very well at WGN-TV.

One thing I hadn't noticed (which is shameful being a lifelong Clevelander) is that WJW outputs 65.5 hours of news a week. The most of any station in North America. By comparison, CHCH-TV in Hamilton ON is second with 64 hours of news per week.
