Discovered composers & publishers of music themes

One of the classic news themes from the 1970's has been identified! The 1977 WNEW News Theme was composed by David Amram, and called the "10 O'Clock News Theme". Someone identified him as the composer in a YouTube comment and a Q&A in a 1978 edition of Newsday confirmed it. Looking at his discography, I don't believe that it ever made it onto one of his albums.

Simply a wild guess, but is there any chance of different stations commissioning different cuts forming the basis of Good News at Gari, other than promo songs? Or even Gari itself presenting multiple options to their clients at the time?

To be very honest, the better-known cut made famous by WEWS, WPLG, and WDSU resemble Catch 5 according to my personal sense, while the other famous cut used by WAGA, KCCI et al (also 5p option at numerous stations) sounds rather extraordinary comparing to the former.

Speaking of Good News from Frank Gari, there is this promo song (as seen in this WAGA example) that makes me think of Let's All Be There, which was NBC's promo campaign from 1984 until 1986 when they got the then-new and current peacock.

Also used on WTVJ in the 1980s during its days as a CBS affiliate on Channel 4 (now NBC-owned affiliate on Channel 6)

And Canal 9 in Lima, Peru:

Maybe a real surprise: WKZX 1997 was the very same intro piece used by Shanghai Television in mainland China for their flagship 1830H newscast back in… 1995~98!

I was initially surfing through archival contents on this site and clicked on a link in the reply below,

and was immediately surprised with the music coming out!

This isn't a news theme, but I've always wondered what the name and composer of this production music was (it's heard several times in this video from a 1999 Cox Communications free preview of HBO, one portion being most clearly audible at the 7:50 mark).

Cox had used the piece for its free preview weekend events dating to April 1997 (during an HBO/Cinemax preview occurring the weekend Twister made its debut on HBO, over a week after it became the first film ever released on DVD), when they were still hosted by Terry Rich and produced through his production and marketing firm Rich Heritage.

I've also added an audio clip taken from a fishing program included in a now-deleted YT channel surfing video (I had to convert the audio clip into an mp4, since TVNT links don't accept mp3s).

Quite the discovery last night in the basement here. I am getting these digitized today and will get some compilations uploaded to YT.

A couple notes…the WKMG early 80s image campaigns and what is aka “Tuesday11” is called “Heart of…” and “Action News” is actually called “Look to Us”

These reels are the master reels. I had previously found the station dubs that were in fairly poor condition. These reels are in pristine quality.

By WKMG you mean WCPX or WDBO in Orlando FL?

It's Nice to Come Home... to TV 3! (KORK-TV Las Vegas, better known as KVBC and today's KSNV).
