Discovered composers & publishers of music themes

This might be totally out there...but is there a chance that the WFAA 1992 Theme was done by Chris Crane?

Something about the instrumentation in this close says "Crane" to me.

As a counter-argument...it's otherwise unlike his other work. Who knows.

I dunno... to me it sounds more like "The Paramount" (a Gari package intended for UPN stations in the late 90s, and only WKBD ever got a lot of use out of it-- WTOG and KSTW had their news ops shuttered shortly after they adopted the package), but it does sound a bit Crane-ish as well.

If it were a Gari piece it probably would have been included in that master list. Plus...Gari made such liberal use of elements from other packages that there would have been some cut in this that was part of a Gari "template" (searching for a better word here).

I just noticed the NMSA put in the WBRZ 1983 Theme under WFSB. Did they actually use this theme or was it a Klein & campaign?

It's possible it was used for news, but not definitive. A 1979 WFSB aircheck has a very disco-sounding theme that sort of fits but doesn't have the actual signature in it. That would overlap with the "Land of the 3" campaign and all the promos within that aircheck tag with the "Land of the 3" theme.

Listening to the 1990 KESQ theme, it appears this may have been an attempt by Tuesday Productions to update their late 1970s "News People" theme (particularly the version used for the image campaign)

They sound more like WSB’s nightbeat theme:

I posted this in Classic Video but I thought I'd have better luck here:

Anyone know this theme? I heard it in part of a Donahue promo from 1993,

as well as the intro to Jornal Bandeirantes from 1992:

Sir, ask and ye shall receive. Identified in the album as i was listening to another track from another post. https://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?threads/classic-video-thread-pre-2008.870/page-303#post-208846

Like that track, this too is from Airtrack. Album: Jet Stream. Track: Supermen

I know this one. It is "Slam Dunk" by FirstCom.

Also identified from JACO' YT page (i guess it's cuts that aren't on firstcom's site anymore i guess): Two nice cuts, one used for 'Cinema 4' intro for Venezuela's Venevision in the 80s. "ClockLife" by firstcom.

Another: "L.A Overture" used in ad for Montreal's CF Cable TV system.

This isn't really a discovered news package composer...... more like a potentially discovered musical influence that shaped some themes. Have to wonder if this song released in July of 1983 influenced one the main themes of Gari's News Channel and a theme in Gilmer's Image IV package? I also remember a sound-alike version on one of the first Megatrax CD's! I always thought the inspiration came from Flashdance, not this dude. :D

Start from the beginning and notice the 8 second mark. EDIT: just noticed the ending starting at 3:46 is also a dead giveaway and sounds close to the tag of News Channel.

Might’ve been possible. This was released around the same time as KCNC’s call letter change (which stands for Colorado’s News Channel) and WSB commissioned the Gari package itself in ‘83...

This might’ve been brought up before, but does anyone know what WNEM’s 1986 theme is?

Easy one. It's VTS Productions' "Looking Out For You", as used by KFDA & KSWO in the late 80's/early 90s. The closing piece is an instrumental from their image campaign, as used by CFTO in 1984:

Hmmm... once again another thing we gotta add to the NMSA....

Does anyone believe if WSPA’s News Theme from the early 90s is a Peters track? They were a Peters client at the time...

I want to say yes. It goes along with their “7’s in the center, in the center of it all” campaign of the time. Spartan sister WBTW was a Peters client at the same time with Best of Two Worlds.
