WAVY 10 Fan 232
Just flipped to WTKR out of curiousity a moment ago, and apparently NFL Today host James Brown is subbing for Scott Pelley on the CBS Evening News tonight.
MorningNews 1290
Seems I remeber him filling in for Scott some time last year or maybe that was the weekend show. He's pretty good.

Leavellebrett 85
There was a lengthy discussion about this in another thread. He's basically a forth-in-line sub. But, there is no way that he's going to replace Pelley when he leaves... because he's not going to leave any time soon.
jmkcool2002 7
He's really good. If CBS changes up "The NFL Today" and replaces that crew with the NFLN crew led by Rich Eisen, then maybe CBS may be able to entice James Brown to stay by adding on more news assignments. Asomrjsurf 6
But CBS doesn't own the NFLNETWORK.
detroiter313 178
But CBS doesn't own the NFLNETWORK. You are absolutely correct. Everybody knows NFL Network is owned by the league itself.
jmkcool2002 7
You guys forgetting that CBS and the NFL Network will be working together on Thursday Night Football? Thursday's studio team will be a mixture to be determined of both NFLN talent and CBS talent. Sunday's studio team may end up also using NFLN/CBS talent since they'll be working so closely together next season.
TVNewsLover 727
Sorry to bump this thread, just thought I'd mention James Brown is anchoring again tonight.
TexasTVNews 1366
James Brown is anchoring tonight just 24 hours after anchoring The NFL Today.
cbs2newengland 71
He anchored last night too. He has good delivery, because all he does is read the prompter of whoever writes Brown/Pelley the stories,
Rusty Muck 4161
... there is no way that he's going to replace Pelley when he leaves... because he's not going to leave any time soon. Which is pretty much why Russ Mitchell left CBS News for WKYC.
