The CBS 3 Eyewitness News Thread

I'm glad he landed somewhere but that's a big drop. I thought Shiba's drop was big from NY to ATL but Chris is way bigger. His former co anchor Jessica left KARK there for KYW and he's going there ( KATV). Either markets don't mean nothing any more or the bigger markets are not hiring them. Even Rob is going down a lot of markets but for some reason I don't see it as a demotion compare to the other two. Best of luck to him.

He's a Little Rock native, so I would imagine market size doesn't mean as much to him as returning to his hometown.

Seems like a great deal for KATV to get someone with his talent AND a history in the market/at the station.

KYW and all the others have made it super easy and convenient to stalk reporters via social media.

"If you are dressed like that then you are asking for it"

If TV stations keep pushing employees to play this crazy social media game then someone IS gonna get hurt or killed.

This is absolutely accurate.

Many female anchors and reports all have the similar styles of dress--literally a dress. Their looks, dress style and demeanors on air make them vulnerable to creepos to contact with them in any way.

And this was a thing years before social media became a way of life. And now that it is, it's even easier. And scarier.

And the "you were asking for it" excuse is paper-thin, but sadly gives the sickos a leeway into the women they are following.

These recent examples from KYW are just the tip of the iceberg, but are still alarming on their own.

This needs to addressed in bigger places. The stations need to tone down the social media aspect for their employees, because another female anchor will get hurt if or even worse.

And it can and will happen to male anchors too.

They also seem to be trying to distance themselves from news. Eyewitness Features. The difference between CBS Local O&O's approach to news and that of CBS News - especially CBS This Morning is striking. At least here in Philly we get all that fluff & stuff from KYW now, while we get serious journalism and "More News." from the network. Does the B in CBS now stand for Bi-polar?

Here we go:

They're no longer using the morning cut of Enforcer for opens and there's actual city footage in the open and not some still picture composited over some stock sky animation. Also they're now IDing individual newscasts. They had gotten away from that for awhile. Big improvement for them.

Thank goodness they kept the Eyewitness News name.
