tyrannical bastard 3442
It's probably a sign of things to come in future years. It's a proactive move, but if things don't go well this year revenue-wise, next year could be one reminiscent of 2009 with layoffs, furloughs, and other cutbacks to stop the bleeding.... Mrtraveler01 737
Is that really a fair comparison? No one is. Fair enough. I meant to say that in the 90's, KSDK was the leading station in the market. But NBC's sluggish run in the 2000's combined with the mismanagement of KSDK caused it to sink in the ratings while KMOV rose in the ratings to be the new leader in the market.

Guest Former Member 207
How do you know ABC wants to yank WFAA's affiliation? Someone's fantasy TV musings wanting to become reality...and reading Uncle Barky's article, he gave no indication at all about WFAA losing ABC, because of cost-cutting at Tegna. TexasTVNews 1366
One more note. Tegna is NOT selling WFAA either. And that goes for all the Tegna stations as well.
jbnews 344
I know they aren't selling them. And, I watched an open of the KING 5 News on KONG at 9 Open from 2014. Greg Copeland was anchoring. I actually think he wouldn't be too bad to anchor the news at 5 in place of Dennis. If that were to happen, they could put Danielle at 4. GoldenShine9 1509
How do you know that? It's the largest market network station that is not an O&O - meaning it brings in big money for sure.

rkolsen 1675
Yeah, but with TEGNA's huge debt load, wouldn't they be better off selling it rather than keeping it? A group would not sell off their biggest stations which bring in the most money. There's a reason why when NBC put WTVJ and WVIT on the market (and obviously off) and not any of their Top 10. Danielle was anchoring at 4 & 9 while Amanda was out on maternity leave even after Amanda returned Danielle still hasn't anchored on the weekends it's been Sula Kim solo. So I wouldn't be surprised If Danielle does get the 4 & 9 pm spot permanently.
