Forget that CBSN, ABC O&O's, Gray, Scripps, etc have had Roku/Fire/AppleTV apps for a long time- Nexstar stations are leading the way like the Internet Explorer of SmartTV news that they are!

So far, the only participating providers are four small local operations. Is Nexstar testing out restricting local station livestreams to pay TV subscribers or something? https://www.pahomepage.com/live-stream/ An update on this: Both WBRE/WYOU and WTNH have removed the restrictions and now you can view their newscasts without to login. Nexstar probably either realized that this was a bad idea, or they received too many viewer complaints.
NEPANews 9
It seems in the past week or so that newscasts on WBRE/WYOU now have the reporters referencing the channel numbers of the two stations for the first time in roughly 15~ years. It's VERY awkward when you hear it spoken in a toss to a package like: "WBRE 28 WYOU 22 Eyewitness News reporter, Chris Bohinski tells us..." What could have prompted this change? Kind of dumb when people can watch a stream of WNEP news for free.
