Nexstar...again

Recommended Posts

Also in Richmond. A receptionist and a janitor. Really?

Also, is anyone surprised by this news? Hollywood Today Live will end production at the end of the month (4/28). Since he's not in the syndicated biz, Sook was never for it to begin with.

Ridiculous!!! How much money do those 2 layoffs even save? $50k? Maybe $60k max? That's nothing.

I'm surprised it lasted this long, despite the fact it aired in small markets and that--even after all this time--I still barely know what it is. It still has no Wikipedia page, for corn's sake! (not that it needs one now.)

It really doesn't; most days it played like a non-aware parody of other talk shows. I only saw one interview with an actress I actually knew and they were hiring actresses as co-hosts at probably good salaries. Hopefully they can pawn off the Hollywood/Vine studio lease at a good price. It's no wonder that the moment WBAY and KWQC got their MCs moved to Gray they were easily able to justify that infomercials made more money than a late night playing of a talk show from noon.

To be fair, Hollywood Today Live isn't that good of a syndicated show, and I don't even go keeping up with the Kardashians or any other celebrity or celebrity gossip because to me, like tv itself (including cable, satellite, and even atsc 1.0 and 3.0) now that the internet has taken over, it's irrelevant

But that relevant internet is just like that CIA Crack....it's sucking your brains out quicker.

TV sucked our (analog creatures) brains at much slower rates, because we had time to digest all the media we were exposed to.

Now you young-uns got all that near field RF exposure at much higher rates....and those video games, free tranny porn and Candy Crush has made all your millennial asses bigger than a Kardashians.

(Sluuuuurrrrrrppppp)

You keep placing all those eggs of yours in that "Internet is Everything " basket...

When the power goes out, and the Norks bomb San Francisco (and Austin) , I will watch you whine and bitch that you can't get your uber, back page hookers or deal dash meals because Kim Jun Un nuked your net nodes.

Gurgle, gurgle

Sluuuurrrrrpppppppp!!!!

Golly Eat, don't burst the kid's bubble.

Or better yet, don't crush the boy's candies.

Let him have a taste of ATSC3.0 before his dreams get shattered.

The graphics are the same but the set is completely different from WEVV, as WEHT/WTVW have the Nexstar set.

Honestly, they should've waited a another year or two to change the branding, music, graphics, set, etc.. since it only premiered about a year ago.

Sorry to bring up an old topic but I was able to find some videos of the opens for KLAF and KADN.

And yes, they look really really cheap.

Having the anchors say "focused on family and community" only adds to the cheapness.

Good lord, this makes the pre-Gray KALB-5 opens look like a million bucks.

The whole "Focused on family and community" line is clunky as hell but if they're gonna stick with it they should have that in the show opens instead of making the anchors say it.

Agreed.. They don't sound enthused about it... It's almost an afterthought the way the say it

The weird thing about those opens is that the photography in all of them is beautiful. Like, major market beautiful.

They could have worked around the graphic shortfalls by making all their opens in the vein of the Today one and it'd have been fine. I don't get it.

I was half asleep when I viewed the opens this morning, so I didn't pay much attention to what they said. After re-watching, I totally agree. Not only is it completely unnecessary, it sounds so forced and unenthoused when they are saying it.

It's like they tried to combine WNBC's old open with WPVI's open, but failed miserably.
