Weeters 1683
Looks like this one flew under the TVNT Radar... Earlier this year Vancouver's CTV station updated it's set, covering over the windows providing a skyline view with vertical plasmas and what appear to be fake concrete panels, on a set that was originally built with warm, natural wood tones. The set, seen prior to the upgrades. The set, following upgrades. All together, the changes make the set feel smaller and darker, and some parts look like set pieces you'd expect to see on an old sci-fi show. The original set was designed by Jack Morton and built by Blackwalnut for CTV News' coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics. ABC 7 Denver 1494
You are right! Looks like something on a Sci-Fi space ship and feels rather bland and boring.
ED2 142
The set is awful. I don't understand why the station decided to seal off the windows. The set changes occurred during a major anchor shuffle. Long story short, some people were demoted, others sent back to their original anchor posts. One notable demotion were Rob Brown (senior reporter) and Keri Adams (11:30 anchor), who were reassigned to anchor CTV News at 5:00. Adams also was given the role of anchoring the recently launched noon newscast. The longtime anchor of the 5:00 news, Colleen Christie, was reassigned to the 11:30 news. Fast forward about a year - Brown was demoted back to reporter, Adams sent back to 11:30, and Christie reinstated to 5:00, and also adding the noon news to her duties. Brown has since resigned from the station, and will be joining his wife (CBC reporter Rosa Marchatelli) in Calgary to anchor CBC's local news there. Amra 127
Yet they still have Mike K. and Tamara T. fronting the 6:00pm show. Les Staff should've blown the place inside out. Mike is a great anchor and his pairing with Coleen at Noon is great. Rob and Kerri, a whole new league. They should've been anchoring the 6 o'clock news. Tamara should be out of that place. The only change that I loved was having super sexy Brent Shearer to CTV Morning Live.
