WTVR, the CBS affiliate in Richmond, VA, unveiled their new graphics today starting with the noon newscast. These are the same graphics sister station KDVR-Fox 31 in Denver, Colorado is currently using (both are owned by Local TV, LLC).

If this is going to all the Local TV stations, they picked the right package.

If this is going to all the Local TV stations, they should probably have standardized the music, because WTVR is using Enforcer (NG2) and, well... no.

It is a good package, though part of the reason why they went for all the angled elements was to fit in with the X in the FOX logo. The photography is also what really made the package stand out at KDVR, so let's hope the others can keep up with it.

It would've been great if they could have come up with a custom look for WTVR (and possibly WITI later on?) like what they did at KDVR and KWGN, though I suppose they might not have the resources to do that on a large scale.

It would be interesting to see if this package is a new standard on all of Local TV Stations.... but WREG in Memphis, Tenn and KFSM in Fort Smith, Arkansas use the same graphics package, both are owned by Local TV. So it seems as if they do share some packages around the stations.

No. I think my local FOX affiliate package is great! I just dislike group mandates!

I wouldn't mind if WJW went with the KDVR package and music, considering that they've been stuck with the first generation Fox O&O graphics since mid-2007. They really should make an upgrade.

Yes, there is that pesky thing called the O&O news set that Fox built for WJW that wouldn't fit with the KDVR look in any real way...
