KTVI juggles baseball and severe weather info

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch paid a major compliment to Fox affiliate KTVI for how they handled broadcasting severe weather information, while simultaneously running the National League Championship Series game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday (the game which ironically, affected Fox's broadcast of The X Factor, as the game's resumation caused that show's reveal of the 16 contestants that peform during the live telecasts to get cut off about 57 minutes in).

According to the article, KTVI displayed a map of weather alerts for the area as a line of severe thunderstorms approached the St. Louis area, choosing to remove the map when play began, and only intermittently inserting the map and warning scroll for short periods, so as to not obstruct the in-game statisical graphics supplied by Fox. KTVI did cut to a live weather update during the game by chief meteorologist Dave Murray as the storm became stonger, though it was run during a commercial break
