Amra 130
Five months after Lloyd Robertson retiring from CTV National News and Lisa LaFlamme fronting the flagship newscast of CTV, a new package was introduced Monday. The music still has the signature from the former 2003 package. Personally, I don't like it that much. You can listen to the tease/open, on the link below. http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20120213/music-national-news-120213/
Jess 1110
I don't know if this can actually be considered "forward-thinking" when it sounds like a huge orchestral package someone commissioned in 1989. I do like it, but it feels very old and stodgy to me. Personally, I consider "forward thinking" news music to be, for example, the BBC News theme. Or the Global Local News theme. Not this. ED2 144
I don't like how CTV is puffing themselves up by saying that this theme was "proudly" produced in Canada. Global's music was also produced in Canada and they didn't make a big deal out of it. http://jamesbowersmusic.com/music-for-tv-portfolio/news-sports/
