Weeters 1749
NBC's Dallas O&O KXAS rolled out a new on-air look on Saturday. The new look appears to be a cross between the KNSD package that debuted earlier this year, the that is believed to be designed by NBC Artworks, and the leaked Artworks package for KNTV. A post on the station's Facebook page by someone claiming to be with the group that did the work says they spent 16 hours on-set making the changes. Spring Rubber 607
The graphics are interesting, but the backdrop of the set looks kind of meh based on the pictures. The only part I really like is the rectangles with the NBC colors on the bottom of the desk.
jdcnow 14
I do like the new gfx, and the implementation of them in the set, but dear God, did they cut a deal with one of the local Home Depot stores on some wood panelling?
Guest George
I like the new stuff. If Scripps decides to let their stations do their own thing again, then KJRH would look great with these graphics. I also noticed that the new music is 360 Music's "360" with the NBC chimes. NEPAMediaNut 2
I'm guessing these are the ones you are talking about?
TennTV1983 741
I'm guessing these are the ones you are talking about? http://vimeo.com/28024628 No, but the elements are similar. Think KARK's look, only in blue.
NEPAMediaNut 2
Oh ok, that these looked kind of similar.
sfomspphl 453
I actually like the set. It's a back to basics approach that emphasizes two things: what station you're watching (that big '5') and the talent (those softer skyline backdrops will let the talent pop on screen more). The wood and backlit '5' add nice warmth and authority. Feels like the new sheriffs in town are taking a page out of the mid 90s NBC playbook that went back to the red line lower thirds and basic sets. The static graphics are very clear and easy to read, haven't seen any animations but what I see above here may lack dimension.
