  1. It appears that WREG in Memphis is preparing to get a new set in the coming weeks, with the current weather center and news desk both being moved to temporary locations as of this weekend. At this time, we do not know to what extent the studio renovations are being done, but according to Chief Meteorologist Tim Simpson via his Facebook page, the work has been going on behind the scenes for some time. It'll be interesting to see what the finished product looks like when you consider WREG has been in the same newsroom studio setup for roughly 23 years with some updates done along the way.
  2. No sign of CBSN Chicago in sight, but WBBM is using some of the full screen graphics for local stories. Also, while it doesn't match the streaming look, they tested an updated 7-Day over this past weekend. While we're at it, let's throw in the ticker and bug adjustments at WCBS, too. 3. Today's Feder... Mass layoffs at WBBM (CBS2). https://www.robertfeder.com/2020/05/27/mass-layoffs-cbs-2-hit-pam-zekman-valued-members-team/
  4. Don’t know the authenticity but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this? sure as hell sounds good.
  5. WJHL, the CBS and ABC-affiliated station in the Tri-Cities (Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City), recently debuted a new set this past Tuesday, and with it received new graphics that are much like the ones currently used at KOIN 6. Article: https://www.wjhl.com/news/local/wjhl-abc-tri-cities-debuts-new-studio-tuesday-at-5-p-m/ Update: In addition to new graphics, they have also dumped Canvas for Aerial.
  6. Yes...you read that right: two networks traded their rights to air their next broadcasts at the big game itself. Not sure where this story fits considering we're between seasons and the fact that this concerns the two Super Bowls after Fox does LIV next year, but here it is: https://awfulannouncing.com/nbc/super-bowl-trade-nbc-winter-olympics-cbs.html
  7. At last, it's my turn to create a news coverage thread! We know that the Classic 3 networks will devote all of primetime to the midterms, as well as most of late night, so now comes the time to ask, what special coverage will your local stations be doing, if any?
