  1. Nexstar is paying $35 million for KUSI in San Diego. They already have KSWB, so expect a lot of changes out of this move (including a CW move if Tegna backs out).
  2. After a long 10 years (top picture is previous news set), is Nexstar's Altoona, PA station getting a new news set finally? Is the news set with the blue background pictured a temporary set? The set with the blue background pictured started being used on Friday, September 1st, 2023.
  3. With CBS dropping the CW on WKBD, looks like Nexstar "might" have found a new home.... Looking at this paperwork, Adell Broadcasting is selling WADL to Mission Broadcasting for $75M. Nexstar will provided services to WADL, including an SSA, an option agreement, and sell of commercial time.
  4. KDVR/KFCT FOX31 is now on the KWGN set starting today with the FOX31 NEWS @4PM. It's unknown currently how long they will be using the KWGN set. The studio & set were last updated in Spring of 2019 by Design Group International. For now it appears this is only an update for the FOX side. No word on if KWGN will be updated after FOX is finished. https://coloradonewscenter.blogspot.com/2022/05/fox31-is-updating-its-news-set.html
  5. On July 11 WDVM and WDCW merged To form DC News Now The music Is a updated cut of Indie Bland news NDC 3 is the new look
  6. Since we were talking about the CBS Owned Stations using "First Alert Weather" for their stations. I thought I would ask what are the worst and best TV Weather Branding Slogans are. Here is my picks Best : Severe Weather Team (Channel Number) [Some Cox Stations] Weather Watch 4 (WTAE -TV [00s]) Triple Doppler Radar (WTKR-TV [Late 90s-00s]) 13 News Weather Lab (WVEC -TV [Early/Mid 00s]) StormRanger (NBC O&Os) Worst: Code Red Weather (Sinclair Stations) Impact Days (Hearst Stations) Doppler 2 Million (WCBS -TV [Middle 00s])
  7. WGN Chicago's streaming afternoon products are starting to branch out. The originally-scheduled 1 (English), 2 (Spanish), and 3pm (co-anchored) WGN News Now webcasts are seeing occasional pre-emptions for things like long-form coverage (court cases, etc.), and a Monday Chicago Bears recap. New today, in place of the 3pm stream, is Watching Winter Live. Hosted today by anchor Chip Brewster, he was joined by WGN meteorologists Demetrius Ivory, and longtime weather producer Bill Snyder. Now, why am I including Nexstar in the title? Well, their intention is to have meteorologists from any and all Nexstar stations participate in this weekly roundtable/Q&A, depending on what's in the weather headlines and such, so don't be surprised if this pops up on your local Nexstar streaming outlets in the coming weeks. Does this turn into something more, over time? I do not know, but in the meantime, here's the first show. I timed the video to the final seconds before the stream begins, but feel free to enjoy the nearly 4 minutes of the Chicago's Very Own theme that leads off the video.
  8. A LinkedIn post (h/t @jbnews on the Discord) says that WDCW is in the market for a news director to help "launch new and expanded newscasts and local programming on WDVM, WDCW (CW) and our digital assets in the market." I wonder if this means WDCW is finally bringing back newscasts.
