  2. KDVR/KFCT FOX31 is now on the KWGN set starting today with the FOX31 NEWS @4PM. It's unknown currently how long they will be using the KWGN set. The studio & set were last updated in Spring of 2019 by Design Group International. For now it appears this is only an update for the FOX side. No word on if KWGN will be updated after FOX is finished. https://coloradonewscenter.blogspot.com/2022/05/fox31-is-updating-its-news-set.html
  3. Since we were talking about the CBS Owned Stations using "First Alert Weather" for their stations. I thought I would ask what are the worst and best TV Weather Branding Slogans are. Here is my picks Best : Severe Weather Team (Channel Number) [Some Cox Stations] Weather Watch 4 (WTAE -TV [00s]) Triple Doppler Radar (WTKR-TV [Late 90s-00s]) 13 News Weather Lab (WVEC -TV [Early/Mid 00s]) StormRanger (NBC O&Os) Worst: Code Red Weather (Sinclair Stations) Impact Days (Hearst Stations) Doppler 2 Million (WCBS -TV [Middle 00s])
  4. WGN Chicago's streaming afternoon products are starting to branch out. The originally-scheduled 1 (English), 2 (Spanish), and 3pm (co-anchored) WGN News Now webcasts are seeing occasional pre-emptions for things like long-form coverage (court cases, etc.), and a Monday Chicago Bears recap. New today, in place of the 3pm stream, is Watching Winter Live. Hosted today by anchor Chip Brewster, he was joined by WGN meteorologists Demetrius Ivory, and longtime weather producer Bill Snyder. Now, why am I including Nexstar in the title? Well, their intention is to have meteorologists from any and all Nexstar stations participate in this weekly roundtable/Q&A, depending on what's in the weather headlines and such, so don't be surprised if this pops up on your local Nexstar streaming outlets in the coming weeks. Does this turn into something more, over time? I do not know, but in the meantime, here's the first show. I timed the video to the final seconds before the stream begins, but feel free to enjoy the nearly 4 minutes of the Chicago's Very Own theme that leads off the video.
  5. A LinkedIn post (h/t @jbnews on the Discord) says that WDCW is in the market for a news director to help "launch new and expanded newscasts and local programming on WDVM, WDCW (CW) and our digital assets in the market." I wonder if this means WDCW is finally bringing back newscasts.
  6. As part of a settlement agreement worth $60m, Sinclair is selling WDKY Danville - Lexington to Nexstar and selling "non-license assets" of KGBT Harlingen - Brownsville - McAllen to an unknown buyer (but probably will be to a shell company of Sinclair). https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/sinclair-pays-nexstar-60m-some-assets-to-settle-tribune-suit
  7. Nexstar Media to Launch Prime-Time National Newscast on WGN America, Cable Network Reaching 75 Million U.S. Households Nexstar Media Group’s cable network, WGN America will launch a live daily national newscast. Beginning this summer, “News Nation,” will air in prime-time and will draw on the expertise of Nexstar’s 5,400 local journalists in 110 local newsrooms across the country. https://www.nexstar.tv/press-releases/
  8. Don't know if this is network wide right now or just a station problem. But (KDVR/KFCT) keep having the audio cut out during the Giants / Cowboys game on both satellite & over the air. Aprox every 4 mins the audio goes out for a few seconds.
  9. It appears that WREG in Memphis is preparing to get a new set in the coming weeks, with the current weather center and news desk both being moved to temporary locations as of this weekend. At this time, we do not know to what extent the studio renovations are being done, but according to Chief Meteorologist Tim Simpson via his Facebook page, the work has been going on behind the scenes for some time. It'll be interesting to see what the finished product looks like when you consider WREG has been in the same newsroom studio setup for roughly 23 years with some updates done along the way.
  10. KDVR/KFCT & KWGN reportedly have Covid-19 according to the Westword newspaper & FTVLive. https://www.westword.com/news/three-denver-tv-news-anchors-test-positive-for-covid-19-11772661 It is currently on the front page of FTVLive. The stations remain quiet about this however as of this writing.
