  1. Bloomberg is now reporting that Standard/Apollo are nearly a deal to buy Tegna for $24-a-share What's interesting is that what's included is that the shares will increase if the regulatory approval takes a long (and I mean a long) time to approve (which is a possibility). A deal could be announced as soon as later this morning.
  2. DK Pittsburgh Sports has terminated its contract with Pittsburgh PA NBC Affiliate WPXI (owned by Cox Media Group) after a badly researched story aired on their newscast and social media by reporter Nicole Ford. DK Pittsburgh Sports has been helping WPXI with sports coverage for 8 years. https://dkpittsburghsports.com/2022/06/23/dkps-terminates-partnership-wpxi-tv-dk https://www.wpxi.com/news/local/downtown-pittsburgh-businesses-impacted-by-escalating-violence-liberty-avenue/LDCTLH3PTZAELKMVLFRGNL4BOQ/?taid=62b0d8d0892b0a0001d894c0&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2022/6/23/he-has-terminated-his-agreement-with-this-pittsburgh-station
  3. Cox Media is adding the Fox-MyNetworkTV duo in Eugene, OR to their portfolio........https://tvnewscheck.com/business/article/cox-media-buying-klsr-kevu-eugene-ore/
  4. INDIANAPOLIS: DuJuan McCoy, owner and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting, plans to launch the Multicultural News Network (MNN), a "non-partisan national news network" dedicated to (including, but not limited to) the Black, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Native American, and LGBTQ voices and communities. Content will be delivered by those from each respective community. MNN will be based in Indianapolis in the same facility housing WISH and WNDY. Most notably, McCoy has partnered with Cox Media Group for resources, including stations, newsrooms, and news bureau resources. McCoy has ambitions of making MNN in Indianapolis into what CNN is now (or has been) in Atlanta. The new network is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2021. Sources: McCoy teams up with Cox Media Group to launch the ‘Multicultural News Network’ – The All Inclusive News Network [WISH] WISH-TV owner launching inclusive news network in Indianapolis [Indianapolis Star] (I just lightly summarized the details; if you want the exact press, click through the links provided)
