In addition to WFSB’s new set and graphics they’ve also dropped the Early Warning Weather and Pinpoint Traffic branding in favor of First Alert Weather and First Alert Traffic. They seem to be all in, even using the branding for a First Alert Desk from the newsroom for breaking news. -
WNBC News 4 New York just reported that longtime former WNBC meteorologist, Dr. Frank Field has died. He was 100 years old. It was announced on tonight’s 6pm newscast. It was a great tribute reported by Chuck Scarborough. I’d include a link, but doing a quick search I couldn’t find anything; not even on nbcnewyork.com!

WFSB announces new set on-air WFSB-Hartford CT has been working on a new set. Expected completion according to their site- end of summer. I think they’ve had a long history of pretty great sets (my opinion) but the most recent one, while probably the most technologically advanced, was rather bland and one dimensional.

Mary Calvi just announced on the noon newscast that big changes are coming as they are updating their news set. They are on a temporary set until the set is finished. The new set will be unveiled at the end of the month.
