  1. Maybe a real surprise: WKZX 1997 was the very same intro piece used by Shanghai Television in mainland China for their flagship 1830H newscast back in… 1995~98! I was initially surfing through archival contents on this site and clicked on a link in the reply below, and was immediately surprised with the music coming out! https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Gk4y1R7f6/?share_source=copy_web&vd_source=f6aba9ad2bcc30d365de26e9f3d27902&t=202 (4.VII.1995; a short-lived intro from that year) https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV11G4y1Y7Ug/?share_source=copy_web&vd_source=f6aba9ad2bcc30d365de26e9f3d27902 (Fragment 17.IV.1996; intro late 1995~c.1998)
  2. Seems like that H and C Communications (Hobby family of Houston) really liked to borrow elements from Belo graphics during the late 1980s. All 'clear' examples of following are from the roughly same time frame. KPRC-TV Channel Two News 6p WESH NewsCenter 2 6p WTVF Eyewitness News 10p With possibly similar traces (panorama still of Des Moines skyline, then the anchors' personal shots) also present at KCCI's TV8 News back then. *Their lone holdout seems to be KVOA! For comparison: KHOU back then, when it was Houston's (genuine XD) Belo station
  3. Simply a wild guess, but is there any chance of different stations commissioning different cuts forming the basis of Good News at Gari, other than promo songs? Or even Gari itself presenting multiple options to their clients at the time? To be very honest, the better-known cut made famous by WEWS, WPLG, and WDSU resemble Catch 5 according to my personal sense, while the other famous cut used by WAGA, KCCI et al (also 5p option at numerous stations) sounds rather extraordinary comparing to the former.
  4. Speaking of the 1970s Scripps mandated set, WTVF Nashville also apparently used it during the latter part of the decade. They were then owned by The Houston Post (H&C Communications) and I am unsure that did the station introduced the Scripps-esque set along with the Hobbys' acquisition of the place, or not.
  5. WFAA's long ending credits for News 8, at New Year's Eve 1995; Utilizing an extended version of the 1992 theme (suspected Chris Crane or Gari work) Even though the quality is not as satisfactory, but still a good find.
  6. The long sought complete WETA sign-off sequence during the 1970s at last. SSB audio from the U.S. Army Band version with homemade visual montage.
