I was under the assumption that kttv/kcop were expanding their newscast not necessarily to just fill the time during the weekdays because syndicated programs were not doing well. That is why I thought they would put more newscast especially on the weekends on kcop, since the weekdays seemed to be filled with news already. I was not specifically sayjng they were going to try to compete with other stations, since it seems like they have difficulty doing that currently with the newscast on kttv.

Will the station expand today in LA weekend? If they do, the station should put a newscast on both Saturday and Sunday before the today show, then their regular scheduled newscast at 7am, then add a late newscast on Sundays after newsconference if there are no scheduled sports programming from the network.

Based on the post under kcop as te subject, a post said that kcop was just putting news on the air in the afternoons to fill in the time since syndicated programs were having difficulty getting ratings or something. I would hope that is not the only reason and that the station does want to expand their newscast not only on kttv, but on kcop. In my opinion, the addition of weekend morning newscast on either or both kttv and kcop would be the next logical step if they are expanding their newscasts.

What does NBC have to air in place of those races, especially on the USA network, where they don't have a lot of sports programming?

Why do they need a different anchor for Sundays? Why can't the Saturday anchor work both days and have a couple of weekdays off like Mondays / Tuesdays or Thursdays / Fridays? Or find someone that can anchor on both Saturdays and Sundays while also contributing during the week without working everyday.

I don't understand why some of the digital channels like METV needs to be on more than one subchannel. For example, I can find METV, Heroes & Icons, and Catchy TV in the Los Angeles area on more than one local subchannel. Why is this the case?

Wonder why other networks aren't interested? Like the USA network? They want more sports programming.

I understand that less people are paying for cable, but USA network is still one of the popular cable networks and if they want it to stay popular and keep their viewers, I would think they would put some games on USA, while putting the majority of the games they may get if they are getting NBA on peacock & NBC.

Has there been any update as to if peacock renewed their deal with mlb to show games Sunday mornings/early afternoon?

Will NBC put games on USA if it's able to get the NBA instead of putting it on peacock?

I wonder if fox is willing to sell kcop to ABC. ABC could use kcop to add more newscasts, like what they did with kdoc a couple of years ago.

If this is not temporary and they want to put more news content on both stations, why not put current news presentation when kttv is not showing news? For example Fox 11 shows news from 4-11am weekdays, then Kcop should air current news from 11am - 3pm weekdays. I think they should expand their good day LA with weekend mornings as well on both stations.

But why are they airing reruns of news? Put current news on the air.

I understand it's probably financial reason for airing reruns of news, but how do they expect to compete with other stations that are airing more current news and actually get an audience that advertisers are willing to pay to reach.

The station has been showing KTTV Fox 11 News at 5 weekdays for a while now at the same time with KTTV. KCOP is also airing news at 11am and 11pm. They're showing highlights of Good Day LA as well as repeats of West Coast Wrap during middle of the day. Why are they airing repeats and highlights of old news when they can just continue with the 11am crew throughout the afternoon until 2:30 or 3pm and try to compete with KTLA?

Markina Brown and Kandiss Crone bios are still in the cbslosangeles section, but not in the kcal newsteam section of their website. Just search their names.

The station posted that they have a new sports anchor Olivia Garvey for the weekends. Does this mean that Mario Solis is the weekday sports anchor? His bio on the station website still says he's weekday reporter and weekend sports anchor.

What is the deal between cw and acc? Did NBC try to get a deal with this conference? I would assume they would attempt to because they're trying to build peacock as a destination for sports programming or at least put the games on USA network. Also, how did the cw get the bowl game? Did NBC make a bid on it to try to put it on peacock or usa?

Annabelle Sedano first day on the job was today. I saw her anchor the 3pm newscast, but I did not see her at 5pm, as Carolyn Johnson co-anchored the newscast with Colleen Williams. Does anyone know why wasn't Annabelle anchoring the 5pm news with Colleen?

Why does NBC still put sports on CNBC weekend? Why not just move these events to peacock? I think they should use CNBC as an overflow network in case there's conflict in programming on USA OR NBC.

ESPN has the major 4 sports leagues - NFL, NBA, MLB, & NHL, plus college sports. Is this the first time that one network has all of the major sports in recent years?

Why doesn't NBCLA have an anchor who is of Asian background? Ted Chen used to be an anchor on the weekend morning news, but that was years ago.
