  1. Nexstar stations are temporarily back on DirecTV while they hammer out a final deal: https://deadline.com/2023/09/directv-nexstar-restore-stations-nfl-football-carriage-deal-1235548791/
  2. I mean I laughed when they decided that Maryland-Charlotte would be on NBC (and I’m a Maryland resident).
  3. Especially since much of NYC is served by Spectrum, so if it wasn't resolved those customers couldn't even watch it on WABC-TV if they wanted to.
  4. The Disney-Spectrum dispute is over: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/disney-spectrum-new-carriage-deal-espn-abc-return-to-lineups-1235580344/ Of interest is that certain cable channels won’t be available anymore.
  5. And I thought WDCA (which is the WWOR of DC) now airing Feud 7 times a day was obscene. Once again, it shows how dire syndication and linear tv is.
  6. Yep, KOTV has aired it late at night for quite some time.
  7. They went dark right as Florida/Utah was starting:
  8. So much for the 8-10pm local programming/newscasts on WPCH. I have wondered why WANF still airs Big Bang Theory reruns at 7:30, that’s ripe for another half hour of news, especially as WPCH scales back.
  9. Would you believe tomorrow is the 24th anniversary of when they first used the current theme. That’s some low-key longevity.
  10. Plus KDVR (which last I checked beat KCNC and KMGH) opts to air Jeopardy! and Wheel at 6pm Mountain rather than air a newscast.
  11. Plus WXIA already announced the same plan.
  12. Yep, it’s starting September 6th. Funny how WUSA had the 4pm news in DC for a few years in the 90s and now they’ve playing catch-up with the other major stations.
  13. Big Bang Theory reruns are moving from WDCA to WDCW starting September 4th. WDCA will fill the missing hour with Extra and the Simpsons (currently Extra airs at 9:30 AM and noon) while WDCW will air only one rerun of black-ish and The Neighborhood daily instead of two.
  14. I believe WABC considered making 9/11 memorial coverage online-only one year about a decade ago but there was enough backlash to nix that idea.
  15. So the UFO stuff has helped ratings. But obviously at a cost:
  16. Also says Brittney Bell is moving to weekday mornings to work with Sam.
  17. KFSN is now using the new weather graphics: https://abc30.com/13649871/
  18. WPTZ is adding a 4pm newscast next month: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/media-note-nbc5-adds-a-new-hour-and-a-familiar-face/Content?oid=38888947
  19. After leaving DC to go back to Seattle a few months ago, Claire Anderson will still be employed by Fox:
  20. As of next week, WUSA is moving Inside Edition to 7PM, ending it's 7PM newscast. Can't help but think a 4PM newscast is coming back to replace Dr. Phil.
  21. She's resurfacing in El Paso: https://kfoxtv.com/station/people/lizabeth-dueweke
  22. Considering that WABC and WTVD also have the same weekday schedule it's not surprising.
  23. For DC, yeah, Northern Virginia is very sprawling and people will travel that far for work (even if remote work is very prominent in the area). NBC and Fox both start at 4AM. And it's for reasons like this why all 5 LA newsrooms start at 4AM.
  24. WUSA reporter Bruce Leshan retired yesterday after 28 years there: https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/community/bruce-leshan-retires/65-b6a2d0f6-d2b9-4ece-8c12-9c04ca522da1
  25. Former KGO morning anchor Liz Kreutz has joined NBC News:
