  1. Wait did the name "CNN This Morning" look so squished in the 2014 lower thirds? It makes sense to me to just shorten the titles like I do in my concepts (CNN This Morning/This Morning, Erin Burnett Outfront/Outfront)
  2. WANF has a new announcer, replacing Brain Lee. In additon they are now branding their 5pm newscasts as "Live at Five", with a new intro involving shots around Atlanta, WANF's vehicles and lots of 3D.
  3. I know I already commented on this thread since the graphics update was announced but here are my thoughts on this, sorry in advance if it goes on a rant/tangent. I don't even know what CNN is doing anymore, it's like for some reason people at the network itself seemed to despise the new look in it's original form that they just had to change it so many times, just for it to look the same pre-update. When you update something, the point of the update is to make that something look DIFFERENT. If we went through all this trouble, just to return back to the pre-Licht graphics then why did we even change them in the first place? Almost everyone on here agreed the update, looked fine enough as it was the little things about it that made it good, like the flipper and the moving of the time, but now that that's been removed, we are left with this mix-match look that just feels out of place. CNN needs actual new lower thirds soon but I fear these updates only push that back.
  4. And when do these changes go into effect?
  5. Small ATL update: 1) WAGA is now the broadcast partner of the Georgia Bulldogs, replacing WSB (Nothing came of them being on their secondary set, back on the normal set as normal) 2) Just seen at 6:00pm Atlanta News First's shot that appears in the intro has changed, not sure if it's like this for every open, adjusting for the time of day.
  6. Honestly, I always thought the Saturday edition looked, off but I just couldn't put by finger on why. But now it makes sense! Honestly though your lucky to get the quality of the old Saturday look in small markets or even school productions (which as the helm of a school newscast, the stereotypical or small market feels are something we try to avoid, even with a green screen)
  7. Well less then 24 hours after this was posted, Huw Edwards has been named as the BBC presenter being accused. https://news.sky.com/story/huw-edwardss-wife-names-him-as-bbc-presenter-accused-of-paying-teen-for-explicit-pictures-report-12917735
  8. Interesting. Does this mean there will be new operations stayed up (WUPA) or CBS News streaming will be aired or something?
  9. Let's hope they get new graphics along with the new set!
  10. I'm watching on CBS News New York and it looks the same to me so far, only noticeable upgrade are the video panels, now seamless.
  11. Eh I'm mixed, while the new lower third's were only evolutionary and not revolutionary, admittedly they were a lot cleaner and simpler, with the ticker and such. This will be a confusing change for viewers but hopefully a new CEO will actually implement NEW, more modern L3'S, that goes for most of the shows as well.
  12. A lot has happened since the initial announcement but wasn't Katlin Colin's show supposed to start this month?
  13. As long as it's down with the same formats, sets, graphics, and music otherwise we'd end up with the current rendition of The Chase
  14. Kind of unnecessary, especially considering other NYC sets. Lets just hope the set looks just as good if not better with this refresh, sure it became the carbon copy for a few other O&O stations and it's not a big set by any means but it still looks good, simple but modern. Here's hoping!
  15. Maybe nothing worth mentioning but WSB has changed the shot of Atlanta but keeps the same hodgepodge of a display as it's background.
  16. If that happens forget "CBS News Atlanta", ATL would go crazy like Philly did when WPVI dropped the original "MCTYW". honestly "WSB News and streaming on CBS News Atlanta"
  17. Some updates on looks in Atlanta TV. WANF got a new main screen graphic, replacing the shot of Atlanta based on the time of day to a loop of a red display of the graphics package. WAGA is on their secondary set again, have been since Sunday. This is the first time in almost a year since the set updates, wonder what's going on. WSB has slightly updated their "WSBTonight" graphics, adding gradients, and using a new "WSBTonight" graphic on the vertical video screen that normally displays a "Servere Weather Team 2". I hope this means that they might be getting prepared to launch the graphics everywhere else but I don't it, the 75th anniversary intro graphic looks better than their hodgepodge!
  18. The Korean Broadcasting System's flagship news program "KBS News 9" has debuted a new look, with an updated theme, a new set, and intro in celebration for the 50th anniversary of the relaunch of KBS. I personally think this is a vast improvement, replacing some quite over the top 3D graphics and a small set.
  19. Much an improvement! Like this blue variation, what does the open look like?
  20. Also they could have at least done CBS News North Texas
