  1. How much longer until Fort Wayne does this again?
  2. Funeral Coverage for the UK goes like this. BBC: Breakfast will start at its normal time of 6 and run until 8. At that time, Huw Edwards and Fergal Keane will start all day reporting from London with David Dimbleby, who I haven’t seen since he left Question Time, and Kristy Young will report from Windsor. The program will run on BBC One, BBC Two, BBC News, BBC World News, BBC Parliament, and BBC iPlayer. This will also be on PBS and BBC America starting at a later time. BBC Two will be with British Sign Language. The BBC News will air at 5pm on BBC One with regional news at 5:50, The One Show starting at 6:15, Paddington 2 at 6:50, then a recap of the days events right after. BBC News at 10 will air for one hour. On the radio side, Radio 4, 5 Live, Radio Wales, and Radio Scotland will start at 9 and run until 1:30 and then restart at 2:30 and go until 5. BBC Local Radio will be from 10-2 with Radio 2 and 3 airing the funeral at 11. Radio 1, 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network, and Radio 6 Music will have news updates. Radio 1 Dance and Radio 1 Relax will simulcast Radio 1. CBBC and CBeebies will air as normal. BBC Three and BBC Four will start at normal times of 7 that evening. ITV: Good Morning Britain will run from 6 until 9:30. At 9:30, Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham will host the main coverage from Windsor until 6. Regional News will start at 6 with the ITV Evening News at 6:30. 7:30 will bring a recap of the last 10 days with a recap of the day at 9. Tom Bradby will then present the ITV News at 10 for a full hour with regional news afterwards. The full day will be broadcast on ITV and ITV 2, 3, 4, ITVBe, and CITV. Sky: As it has for the past 10 days, Sky News will have rolling coverage anchored by its team that have during the time period. The funeral will be broadcast live on all of the Sky channels. This will include Sky Showcase, Sky Max, Sky Arts, Sky History, and all the Sky Sports channels just to name a few. Channel 4: Channel 4 will not air the funeral, but will be showing programming related to the Royal Family including a documentary on the Queen’s Coronation in 1953. Channel 4 News will air at 1:25 and run until 2:50 and it’s main 7PM newscast until 8:30. The channel will air the two minutes of silence on the main channel and a few of its digital channels. Channel 5: Channel 5 will also not be broadcasting the funeral and will instead air it’s normal children's programming followed by The Emoji Movie, Stuart Little, Ice Age 3, and Sing. 5 News at 5 will run until 6:15. Global: All ads will be paused for 24 hours starting at Midnight. From 10 until 1, LBC’s Nick Ferrari will anchor coverage on all of Globals stations: Capital, Gold, Classic FM, Heart, Smooth, RadioX, and LBC News.
  3. Connie Leonard has left WAVE in Louisville. Back in June she was taken off the anchor desk of Sunrise. https://www.wave3.com/2022/09/10/connie-leonards-last-day-wave/
  4. Mary Nightingale of ITV announced the death of The Queen Mother in March 2002. Today, she announced the death of The Queen.
  5. This is a case where Omar wishes he wasn’t Lisa’s replacement; He wishes he was the replacements replacement.
  6. Anchor Alexis Rogers posted yesterday they are back in the newsroom as their new set is being put together. The old one was put under Nexstar in mid-2018, so it’s not that old. But Nexstar owns CBS4/Fox59 now, so McCoy probably wanted to leave the Nexstar days behind now.
  7. “Head of Bell says Lisa LaFlamme’s departure not related to age, gender, or grey hair“ CTV didn’t write the article, The Canadian Press did, so, you know. Yeah. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/head-of-bell-says-lisa-laflamme-s-departure-not-related-to-age-gender-or-grey-hair-1.6045867
  8. Global at 6:30 (30 minutes), CBC at 10 (hour), and CTV is at 11 (30 minutes) and is the number one newscast in Canada (well, for now; see Lisa LaFlamme for more). Why are the networks given only 30 minutes in the evening? At one time NBC planned on having Nightly News go to a full hour in the early 80s, but nothing happened.
  9. I guess I’ll ask this question: Has NBC considered moving Nightly News to 10 instead? From my understanding, the US is really the only country where a major broadcaster doesn’t carry a nightly evening newscast in prime time.
  10. NPR: Brian Stelter to depart CNN as it cancels 'Reliable Sources' media show https://www.npr.org/2022/08/18/1118197553/brian-stelter-cnn-canceled-show
  11. WSMV is dropping all their syndication for more news. The midday news will run from 11-12, noon news from 12-1, NBC News Daily at 1, Today in Nashville will move from 11 to 2 and run for an hour, and add a 3pm newscast. This all starts Sept 5. Right now their syndication is Wendy Williams and Tamron Hall. Wendy is getting replaced by Sherri and she is going to Fox17(?). No word on where Tamron is going, yet.
  12. I would love to see something like that. Even better: A local version of Nightline. Not the crappy Nightline we have now. The OG Nightline: Ted Koppel Nightline. With the amount of hours Fox and independent stations with their own in-house news department are adding, this would give people something different from another late night talk show with the same five jokes every night. How many times have we all seen the local news only spend two minutes talk about the upcoming city budget, but never really talk about what is really in it? Also, I would like to hear what the mayor or other local leaders have to say after the State of The Union address. National issues do become local ones.
  13. WAVE announced Friday that they will be moving around anchors starting Monday. Shannon Cogan is leaving evenings to anchor WAVE Sunrise. Connie Leonard is leaving Sunrise for the WAVE Troubleshooter team starting next Monday and Brian Shlonsky to evening reporter start this Thursday. WAVE hasn’t said who will be co-anchoring (if anyone) with Cogan. For those haven’t kept track, WAVE Sunrise has been losing viewers since Lauren Jones was cut by the station in 2020. WDRB currently holds first place in the mornings with WLKY I believe in second place followed by WAVE and WHAS. Anyway, here is the full statement from WAVE. https://www.wave3.com/2022/06/10/exciting-changes-coming-wave-news-staff/
  14. To be fair, we have only been asking for CNN to cut back on “Breaking News” since this
  15. In the case of WISH-TV, would they love to rejoin CBS? Yes. Will it happen? Probably not. When WISH lost CBS in 2015, many of us said they would probably been happier to gain Fox instead of The CW. With Nexstar taking over majority of The CW, this will make McCoy mad and probably rethink his affiliation rights with The CW when it’s time to renew. For people that don’t, McCoy did work for Fox26 in Houston and many of his former stations were affiliated with Fox. So he knows what Fox wants and how they work. If WISH/McCoy were to get Fox away from WXIN, McCoy could then go to DirecTV/Dish and say, “You are denying people the right to see Big Ten Football, Big Ten Basketball, NFL, MLB, and many other sports events along with Fox programming.” As for weekend programming currently on WISH, just put it on WNDY and put more local program on WNDY instead of just WISH.
  16. Promo for Monday’s CBSEN aired during 60 Minutes saying Norah will be anchoring from Poland.
