  1. Keke not surprised of cancellation of SSK. ABC has not officially confirmed its cancellation.
  2. I don't have a problem with the pandemic coverage as its big everywhere. I was talking about the constant Trump coverage beforehand and Malaysian Airlines flight 370, which they talked for days on end 6 years ago.
  3. I always say the same thing myself. We have over 200 countries in this world and CNN just feels the need to focus on the same story or person for a long time. All the other big stories are on CNN International, which unfortunately, isn't easily available in the U.S.
  4. I wonder if someone like Nicole Wallace or Hallie Jackson would be good for the job, or even Stephanie Ruhle. There's quite a bit of younger faces working for NBC News.
  5. Plus, I'm sure people would be upset if Shark Tank reruns stopped airing. Just have Shepard's news program and go onto reality shows after that.
  6. Not a bad hire. The question I have, is this show going to be general news or business themed like the rest of CNBC'S programming? I also wonder if he'll be the new anchor of the CNBC News Update that they do every hour?
  7. I liked SSK, but I think one of the biggest problems the show had was its identity crisis, undergoing 3 name changes in less than a year after it debuted. I know the show had a small but loyal audience. I like the harder approach but I'm sure some are going to miss the "fun" element that SSK had.
  8. I have to wonder how many years Andrea Mitchell has left. She's been at MSNBC forever, just like Chris Matthews was before he retired. I'd hate to lose Lawrence as I like him as a lot. I've not heard anything about him hinting at retirement though.
  9. I wonder how long before Chris leaves the network entirely. It looks like he's had enough of working under Zucker.
  10. I'm surprised MSNBC still hasn't changed its name yet. Since Microsoft no longer has any ownership ties and since the channel's constantly using the NBC News branding during programming and promotions, why not change the name from MSNBC to the NBC News Network, and change MSNBC Live to NBC News Live?
  11. I have noticed the facial expressions for quite a while, and it doesn't seem to me to be the most comfortable way to watch the newscast. The only times I've seen her smile is the human interest story at the end, during sign-off and in a few promos.
  12. Norah actually has worked longer in national news, starting in the late 90's with MSNBC/NBC News, and is about a year and a half older than Jeff. I know when they announced Jeff as the then new anchor 2 years ago, people were like "Jeff Who?". I know CBS put a lot of promotion into his launch. IIRC, Jeff previously was a CBS Evening News Saturday anchor and a news anchor on the former Early Show. Regarding Muir, he was already a top-notch journalist before he was the main WNT anchor, going into big news locations like war zones, plus he won quite a bit of prestigious awards too for his work.. He then became co-host of 20/20, before finally becoming anchor.
  13. I can't stand Trump either but definitely notice some bias when watching the newscast. I'm sure Norah's a nice lady but what does she bring different to the table compared to Jeff Glor or Scott Pelley? The ratings have not increased, and before you know it, CBS will be back at square one finding a new anchor. I think Glor was starting to make the newscast his own when they got rid of him, now he's demoted to two hours doing a Saturday Morning newscast.
  14. I've been the watching CBS Evening News with Norah as anchor for the past few months, and it seems that they've went for the ABC route with the overly dramatic speaking style and always using "breaking news" or variants of the term every single night, no matter how truly breaking the news is. Norah does a decent job, but I still prefer Jeff Glor or Scott Pelley.
  15. Who's been filling in for Hallie Jackson since her maternity Leave? Before Craig Melvin's hour, they talked about how her baby was born yesterday. I didn't know who was filling in for her.
  16. I saw Matt Gutman tonight for the first time since his suspension. When did he return to the airwaves?
  17. For many years, I've been a fan of CNN. The past few years, not so much. Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, Erin Burnett, Chris Cuomo, and Wolf Blitzer are all good anchors, but I think that Jeff Zucker has ruined he channel. The politics as sport strategy has not been working for them, and I think that's why MSNBC is beating them fairly good in the ratings. I think that by putting in a new executive and abandoning the talking head panels, they could probably be competitive again with FOX and MSNBC. When Soledad O'Brien criticizes you frequently, you can tell something's very wrong with how your channel is run. MSNBC is a much better network for news than CNN. CNN shouldn't be this unwatchable.
