News12 and WPIX have a history of paying for it's employees submissions - most other stations leave the burden of payment to the individual - so of course news12 will always have more Emmy Nominations and winners by the sheer fact - they submit more than anybody else. do the math

you're only as good as your last newscast. Anybody on-air at all who left the biz anytime after 9/11 was forgotten by the viewers the next day. local celebrity went out the door almost 20 years ago. aside from a few lifelong fans of particular stations - nobody really notices or cares (especially after the news explosion/expansion from the 90's onward). I wouldn't be the first one to admit about the certain on-air news people that spend every minute of down-time adding anybody and everybody they can to beef up their social media followers. the typical public also follow everything and anybody when they first join social media platforms, then later onward they are actually paying attention to very few of the people they follow.

Iron Lion - the average viewer couldn't tell??? you can be sure anybody still watching traditional broadcast local news is able to tell. Not sure if what went on behind the scenes may have also been FCC Violation, You shouldn't be violating FCC rules to get on air just to catch up with everybody else in your market. it was quite embarrassing
