  1. I used to live in the KFVS market, but what bothers me about their "new" graphics isn't the new graphics, it's the fact they changed the "Heartland News" logo (and it seems every year, stations get less and less creative in their logo designs). I bet Gray had something to do with it (since KWQC and a few other Gray stations did the same thing), but that new logo looks so lame and KFVS should've kept the same "Heartland News" logo they had since 2001. Old logo: New logo: I hate how they changed the news logo, especially since they kept both the "KFVS12" and "First Alert Weather" logos the same, but I wonder if they'll be changing those too.
  2. That or voiceovers that've passed away. Although Laurence has been getting replaced by other voiceovers himself. He did voiceovers at WQAD from 1997 to 2007 before being replaced by Rick Hunter. And Bill Murray does at least some of the news opens for KPLR now instead of Laurence.
  3. As far as I know, KPLR-TV in St. Louis is still using their old graphics, but I'm sure that won't last long, knowing Nextar. Nextar had WHBF, WCIA and WMBD all looking the exact same at one point. KPLR-TV has always used some form of the traditional number 11 with the Gateway with blue, yellow and white colored graphics since at least 2010.
  4. Jeff Ellingson had quite a voice. Every time I heard his voice whenever I listened to the KFVS and WQAD news opens, I'd always think to myself "Who in the world is that guy?". I always felt like he had such a commanding and authoritative voice. No wonder he stuck around KFVS12 for so long. I think Ellingson just didn't want to become famous for his work and that's why he always was the "nameless voiceover". Can't blame him for wanting a little privacy.
