It's amazing to think all the money they spent on acquiring FOX could well be part of Disney's downfall.

If the implication is that ABC could eventually/quickly be up for sale, I can't think of literally anyone in a position right now to buy it--not even Sinclair.

DISNEY owns ESPN,ABC, and some elements of FOX(21 Century ). I am surprised they didn't get the FOX tv and regionals, now off too Sinclair.

  2. To change the subject. NEXTSTAR just improved KELO TV with upgrades. It would not surprise me if NEXTSTAR or Mission broadcasting would purchase KTTW tv in the future. Just a prediction.

The DOJ was going to block the sale (and that was after the FCC approved parts of that deal (except for KFNE). So Gray called off that sale.

What are the possibilities of the FCC approving the sale of KGWC and KTWO TV to their respective companies

    So small follow up.

The FCC has greenlighted the KFNB (and satellites) Front Range transaction. But the KGWC (Big Horn) & KTWO (VIsion WY) is still pending.

Did GRAY TV try to buy KGWC TV a couple of years ago and was blocked by the DOJ.

Isn't that ironic that Gray and Tegna enter into an OTT partnership and then just over a week later Gray wants to buy Tegna for $8.5 billion?

I'm starting to wonder if it was just coincedental or is it something else.

Gray and Apollo want the steak which is Tegna.  Will see what the DOJ /FCC do with this situation.

Every single contract with every single entity under their purview would be breached, and it would be a death sentence. The filler shows they run outside their main sports would absolutely eviscerate them in court if they switched to that model, and the entire traditional pay-per-view industry is dead. Outside of dish services that still have to maintain it and grumpy diehards that require it through a cable box, PPV movies are no longer a thing, nearly every ring sports event now has an IPTV option (which they love because only the most tech-savvy could record the event for forever viewing), and most systems only have three PPV channels overall, at most.

    okay

That article was from last week. See the links in my post above the one you quoted. YTTV dropped YES and Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket (maybe others too) overnight last night. From tweets I've seen, YTTV is dropping some of the Sinclair-owned RSNs but has not released a full list of which ones are being dropped.

Could Sinclair's RSN be pay per view only?

First off, you sound like a broken record. Secondly, they did. Several times.

What happen I did not think the submit button worked. It did and pushed the button too many times. My fault

  10. I read a comment on the WRDW TV and WAGT TV being under GRAY. Did WJBF go to court over WAGT TV in 2016, VS WRDW TV.

The paperwork was posted on the FCC site last night.

    Purchase Prices:

    KGWC (Big Horn) - $10.7M ($10,733,333)

    KFNB (Front Range) - $1.7M ($1.766,667)

    KTWO (Vision WY) - $1.5M

    Total - $14M.

Front Range appears to be the parent because it will operate the Big Horn & Vision stations via an SSA.

If i remember correctly, Gray was buying the properties for around $20.5M (that included the price that Legacy was paying for ABC & Fox). So this is just a few million short.

I'm personally not happy that it had to come down to this, after the DOJ stuck their head into the now-scuttled Gray deal last year. As I stated last year, if they would've done that deal all over again, Gray should've partnered with another broadcaster (not Legacy). Let that unrelated third-party (i.e. Coastal/Vision) get the ABC & Fox. Gray could've at least kept CBS because the FCC approved that part of the deal.

After the FCC greenlighted the KDLT deal last month, I was seriously thinking that Gray should go back to Wyoming and try that Casper deal again. And if DOJ files suit to block the sale, then Gray shouid fight it in court. But with the Third Circuit vacating Pai's dereg rule, that somewhat complicates things now.

Will the DOJ/FCC okay the deal with all the parties ( KTWO, KGWC, and KLWY) included.

As CUBS fan for 40 years, It's too bad Marquee could not simulcast 40 games with WGN TV. Somewhere JACK, ARNIE, and HARRY are turning over in their graves. Of course out of state CUBS fans have been without WGN for 6 years.  Sad .

Nice tribute to WGN sports. With great CUBS moments with Jack Brickhouse, Harry Caray, Dewayne Statts, Chip Caray, Steve Stone, Len Casper and JD.
