If it’s that late I don’t necessarily disagree. It was a regular game on a Tuesday night those who stayed up probably went to bed and weren’t going to stay up to watch the news. If I remember correctly I think it was like 11-11:30 where WNYW skipped the newscast

No shocker Bill Ritter let his opinion show, station management should put a stop to it, you don’t really see any other local anchors including at his own station doing this, just him.
I do agree with the whole weather team line up. Reagen has the personality for the lighter weekend morning newscast and would work great with Michelle. Brittany does great in the morning with the team and a promotion for Jeff is well over due

It looks pretty cool I will definitely have to tune in and watch it at some point, it’s definitely something different even from the channel 5 format.
As for the “no tie” I’m a little surprised that Maurice would go more casual where this morning Chris is still in a tie, I could see the morning show being a bit more casual or even if Maurice anchors the new 6 show (Sam Champion, Mike Woods and of course Mornings at 10) but I’m surprised for the 5pm show

Before anyone has a smart remark I KNOW it’s been brought up.. but what is the purpose of having Mike Marza do the 11 every Friday after doing the morning show? It seems like he gets off Monday in return but I just find it odd the majority of the time it’s him. I’m not sure who was on earlier but it seems no matter who it was doesn’t matter as they wouldn’t fill in, I’ve seen David and Sandra do it every so often but that’s not as much as Mike

WNYW has slightly updated their anchor set. Backdrop is now a full seamless screen similar to the rest of the NYC stations. Appears it was over the weekend or late last week.

Today was Andrea Grymes last day anchoring at WCBS. She is unsure if she’ll continue with them reporting during the week, as she was ONLY working weekends.

The noon open debuted (first time watching this week) officially with David Sandra and Brittany.. question for the 5am opening are they using one with Mike Shirleen and Brittany or are they still using generic?

It’s like the times Michelle has been passed over for a weekday spot (which she hinted she wanted at one point) its definitely a somewhat odd decision, unless Toni doesnt want to be tied down to every weekend. What I think would be even cooler tho is to have Joe and Michelle reunite being that Sandra went to weekdays.

He will be doing the full 7-10 and apparently during the NFL season he’ll do Tuesday-Friday

I get what everyone is saying… but it was Christmas Morning… not many wake up and say let me turn on the news… if anything it would be background noise while you’re opening gifts… I don’t see this as a huge deal especially if it means the staff gets time off with their family. Also GDNY ran a taped special at 9, not a live newscast as expected
