  1. I guess KUSA-TV also used some variation of TVbD's famous "Balls and Walls" package (sans the globe), before the switch to NBC in September 1995.
  2. Josh White Design did the on-air & newsgraphics for WJAR NBC10 in the late 90s, before Josh left for WTVJ in 2000 (around the same time they left their Downtown Miami studios (316 N. Miami Ave) for their new Digital studios in Miramar). https://vimeo.com/286541456 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TebhAddP6ZY
  3. I have another one for you, do you know who did the WTOV9 news graphics and opens around the same time? These graphics were kept even after they switched the news theme to "This is Your News" (another Frank Gari composition) and lasted until 2000 when Cox Enterprises bought the station (along with WJAC-TV Johnstown, PA) and switched to the WPXI Novocom graphics and theme (615 Music's "Total Coverage").
  4. Do you know which agency did the 1997 WCAU NBC10 news graphics & opens?, these graphics debuted in Fall 1997 after they dropped 615 Music's "Impact" (which they used since the affiliation switch to NBC in September 1995) and introduced a new theme ("NBC10 News Theme" by Eve Songs).
  5. Any idea as to who did the 1997 WCMH NewsChannel 4 graphics and open?, WCMH's open is clocked at 2:31-2:40 in this video.
  6. Actually Cinetel Studios did the news graphics for WPTV (an NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach) at the time (late 1990s), although it was included in a reel for Quantel HAL in 1997 (Though I'm not sure who did the WBIR-TV graphics and opens at the same point). I wonder if Cinetel also did the look of other Scripps-Howard Broadcasting stations? (although WXYZ used Novocom and Giant Octopus for their news opens as mentioned earlier)
  7. Thank you!, now I wonder which stations the Dallas-based Electronic Graphics and Design (EGAD) did graphics for at the time (1998) besides WVIT and WVTM? I've tried the Internet Archive Wayback Machine but it doesn't get me any results.
  8. Any idea as to who did the WVIT 1998 graphics?, on another thread it was said that "A now-defunct company did the look for WVIT and WVTM at the same time, and they also did a few other NBC affiliates" (That's the only clue that I can give you).
  9. Besides WTHR (pre-1997), and WBAY, WGEM-TV also used a variation of TVbD's famous "Balls and Walls" package as did WHP-TV (mid-90s) and WLOX-TV (late-90s).
  10. Do you know which agency did the WDIV-TV news graphics & opens around the same point?
  11. To add to that Giant Octopus also did news graphics for WFTS ABC28 judging by their client list here: http://web.archive.org/web/19980623201803/http://www.giantoctopus.com/clntlst.html
  12. Or even ViewPoint Studios (now Viewpoint Creative) which did news graphics for WLBZ/WCSH, KHOB/KHOG, KOIN, WNYT, WHTM, WZZM, the 1997 graphics redesign for WMUR-TV, WPXI (before they hired Novocom), WHDH, WCVB (before the went to the Hearst-Argyle Camera mandate (done by LoConte Goldman)) and WFXT. https://vimeo.com/59077835
  13. I've just sent Dan Dean a message, but he's yet to get back to me.
  14. That's the same link I've posted on the earlier comment (sans KOMO-TV)
  15. Any idea as to who did the KING 1990 News Theme?, I know Dan Dean did a number of themes for KING-TV for a couple of years (Evening Magazine, Almost Live! (which is considered to be a local Seattle version of Saturday Night Live) etc...) https://www.dandeanmusic.com/king-tv-music-comp-for-site/
  16. Do you have any idea which motion graphics design agency did the KING-TV news intro & graphics during that time? (late 90s) I assume these graphics were used from mid 1994 until late 1998 when KING-TV got new graphics and an updated theme (the "K5" logo was italicized in time for KING-TV's 50th Anniversary (where they briefly brought back "King Mike" (originally a creation of Walt Disney))).
  17. The LoConte Goldman Design also did the 1997 rebrand/graphics package for KTLA5 in collaboration with the then newly-found Linda Kane Design (LKD), she brought in the Boston-based design firm for the news opens and bumps whiles Linda did the design and production of other components. The 1997 KTLA5 Redesign (when they started branding themselves as "L.A.'s WB") garnered them 7 BDA Awards including 3 Silver Awards and one of which for the Total Package Design. http://web.archive.org/web/20000818195119/http://www.lindakanedesign.com/lkdbio.htm
  18. TVbD also did KUSA and KSNW, plus KTUL (which was owned by Allbritton at the time) also used a variation of their famous "Balls and Walls" package as did WTHR (pre-1997) (which was also used by WHP-TV in the mid 90s). https://vimeo.com/10304814
  19. I believe Giant Octopus did the WLBT graphics as mentioned above. http://web.archive.org/web/19980623202133/http://www.giantoctopus.com/brdcstgllypg5.html
  20. Gannett Production Services did the graphics for WXIA, WTLV, WGRZ, WKYC, WMAZ, WUSA, KUSA (Dateline Colorado) and other selected Gannett O&Os (meaning The Gannett Company had its own in-house agency in the late 90s). jcbD actually did the mid-90s graphics for WXIA and also did graphics for KOAT, KGW, KCCI, WDSU, KTVB, WYFF, WSAV, WTMJ, cable-only Bay News 9, CNN Headline News and several others..
  21. As I know most of the motion graphics agencies that did news graphics for stations (as well as station graphics) such as Novocom (WXYZ (before they hired Giant Octopus), WTVJ, WESH, KFMB, WRC, WPXI, WEWS, etc...), Giant Octopus (WLBT, WCNC, WBBH, WBNS, KPRC, WFLA, WWMT (?)), TVbD (WHAS, KRON, BayTV, KARE, WIVT (and the Ackerley stations WIXT, WUTR), WSBT, WTHR, KUSA, KSNW, KTUL, WBAY, WHP, WXIX, KPTM, CFMT, KSAT, ONN, WMAR, WSAZ etc..), Art Effects LLC (WSB, WAGA) and Quantel Hal (WPTV, WBIR etc...). I'm not sure motion graphics design agency did the WXIA news graphics in the late 90s? (pre-1999), the graphics were also being used for sister station WTLV Jacksonville (before they went under the "First Coast News" banner in 2000) as it was also owned by Gannett, since I couldn't point it out.
  22. I'm looking to acquire/find some IDs from BTQ7 Brisbane, since virtually few stuff can be found (and most Youtube users are afraid of posting such material due to fears of copyright) here are the list of IDs I'm trying to find (I'm leaving "Summer Fever" out since a handful of those can be found on YouTube). I bet that BTQ-7 might have it in their archives. "Seven Fever" (1979), which was used to commemorate 20 Years of BTQ-7. "Seven, You're Still Looking Hot!" (1980), only one ID featuring Boris the Black Knight from Wombat is current available at this moment. "Seven National News" opens and bumpers (1979-1987), that theme was also originally used on the Sydney news (ATN-7) for some time, it was also used for GMV6 Shepparton and BTV6 Ballarat as their news theme as well as RVN2 Wagga Wagga/AVN4 Wodonga/Albury (known as The Prime Network). "Haydn Sargent's Brisbane"/"State Affair" which were current affair programmes that came on before Willesee at Seven (later Willesee 81 and Willesee 82) direct from ATN-7 Sydney. (ADS- 7 (now ADS-10) Adelaide and TVW-7 Perth followed with their own versions of "State Affair" in 1981 and 1982 respectively. If you have any of them, then please notify me.
  23. out of all the other noon newscasts in the U.S., why doesn't the WGN Midday News (formerly WGN News at Noon) have a "fourth" anchor?
