Will ABC7 hire from the outside?  Or will Diane Pathieu get it, since she seems to be the primary fill-in already?

Last week Diane said she applied for the job as everyone else has so they are looking at people outside as well since it's standard protocol, that on-air talent within the station apply for the vacant position.

In a press release, Michael Corn, President of News at NewsNation, said, “NewsNation’s mission is to provide fair and unbiased news coverage, and that’s the way we will approach this important debate. We take this responsibility very seriously and are proud to help inform and educate voters and to contribute to the democratic process.”

Dude gonna really sit there with a straight face and say “fair and unbiased coverage” with Megyn Kelly as a moderator.

Same statement Perry was making with “Balance, Not Bias” when they launched yet subliminal leanings were made in night one 😂

I don't know if someone brought this up... but I see WFLD stopped behind cheap and they have a traffic reporter again. It appears she's per diem from Total  Traffic.

Bryesha Adams has been there since 2019. She was initially a fill in but became main after Michelle Alegria left in '21

Ryan and Dionne are about the same age, he's been at the station longer, she's been doing sports longer. Their other commitments might play a factor, if all parties are interested in keeping those. Ryan still does Windy City Weekend, and she has a midday Saturday show on ESPN1000, plus will be co-hosting the 2 to 3-hour Bears pregame show, which is generally going to be Sunday mornings. I could see a platoon approach, where they split the 7 days in way that isn't the normal weekday/weekend split, but I don't know how they'd break that up. We'll see.

And isn't Mark Schnanowski still on Per-Diem?

I would say this was their first (legit) farewell to someone (i.e.. an anchor) as most people were forced out (Robin, Walter, etc..)

I was surprised they even let him mention Robin, Walter and Mark who he worked with in years past! Glad to see Corey getting a proper sendoff.

Branded in promos as Nonstop News (which is an extension of the brand they use for the last 10, commercial-free minutes of the 4:30-7am block), the 7-9am hours just use regular newscast branding and graphics. The main difference from the pre-7 and post-9 hours is the anchor arrangement. Most of what I've observed is anchor/reporter Chris Tye going solo from the newsroom, though I've seen morning co-anchor Audrina Bigos doing the shift, as well. That anchor also does the :25 & :55 network updates.

And to add in on “NonStop News”, they dropped the “10 Minutes” line in February of last year now  starting Nonstop at 6:53/:55, they also expanded that part to the top of the 5:30 half of the morning newscast around October, as well as adding it to the top of the 9am show.

However they’re still using the “CBS Enforcer: Swinging” track for the segment.

So, here we are, 2 months after Alan Krashesky's retirement, and a job listing has been posted to the station's website. Oh, so they're looking for a weekend anchor so someone can move up to weekdays?

Well, unless someone else is leaving, or they're expanding, it doesn't seem like it. That said, this could just be a formality, posting the listing, even if they go with someone already at the station.

If Ravi isn’t getting a promotion, then we see where this lands…
