  1. Major technical glitch tonight after the first commercial break. Something happened in studio, Contessa Brewer took over after the commercial & brief color bars from the Power Lunch interview area and anchored the rest of the broadcast.
  2. Thanks CircleSeven that's what I wanted to know!!!
  3. Tegna starting a Master Control hub in Charlotte at WCNC--I wonder what stations they will be running out of there? And does this mean that NBC News Channel is no longer at WCNC? https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/supervisor-broadcast-hub-operations-at-tegna-2433082877 As it stands now Tegna has 2 hubs going, Jacksonville, FL at (WTLV/WJXX) for NBC, ABC & My Network TV stations & (WLTX) in Greensboro SC for CBS, CW, & FOX Stations.
  4. Do all of scripps stations have hubed master control? And what stations are out of Indy? & what stations are out of Norfolk?
  5. Sports Director Arran Andersen left KUSA & KTVD at the end of December & is now freelancing. He joined KUSA/KTVD in October 2019 after Drew Soicher's contract wasn't renewed.
  6. Quick question about the NextGen rollout---is KCNC not participating yet? They don't seem to be listed as being hosted on KWGN or KMGH..
  7. I would think yes, the building was set up for 1960s TV, plus I've read in the past that due to the building limits that is why McGraw-Hill installed "Parker Vision" the computerized master control system, because they didn't have room to add equipment to KMGH's master control. Plus now they have KCDO3 there with them and all of that master control equipment. And I think it might not get knocked down very fast, esp if the city has already filled for historic status. The KMGH studios aren't nearly as big as the 9NEWS/My20 studios down the street or the FOX31 News & Technology Center.
  8. I would have thought with the buyout of KCDO by Scripps & KMGH that NewsNet would have been gone, but it's still on KCDO--3.3 over the air, with a better signal.
  9. I think KCNC has been in there facility longer, they moved in to there current studio facilities in May of 1966. KMGH/KLZ has been on that block in it's entire existence it started in a converted car dealership, where the satellites are located now.
  10. Scripps has announced that the KMGH & KCDO Studio facility is up for sale. They are now fighting with Denver County over historic status for the building. I have it posted on my blog. https://coloradonewscenter.blogspot.com/ Here is paperwork from the county about the property: https://www.denvergov.org/files/assets/public/community-planning-and-development/documents/landmark-preservation/demo-cde-postings/2021-demos_cdes/123speerboulevard_cdeapplication.pdf
  11. KDVR & KWGN may still be in the pool, but they certainly haven't used "Sky FOX" or "Sky2" in a few weeks. The last time i saw video from the helicopter on FOX was Mid January.
  12. I Was looking at some ratings info the other day, and man--"The News with Shepard Smith" was way down on the list. I have a hard time seeing the program lasting unless the ratings improve.
  13. This acquisition could fit in quite well with WBNS & WBNS-FM sports radio.
  14. Ah okay, the on-air ads KMGH was running yesterday said they had moved frequencies.
  15. KMGH Moved frequencies at 7AM this morning. And KWGN Moved frequencies at 11:55AM this morning. KWGN to physical channel 36 from 34, KMGH to physical channels 7 & 30 from 17. KMGH also Moved there main transmitter to the KSBS-DT tower & now shares tower space with KSBS & KCDO. KUSA, KCNC, KTVD & KDVR are un-affected at this time. **KDVR, KMGH, KUSA, & KWGN are now showing as HEVC signals**
  16. News Nation feels like a local newscast that's trying to do national news. My biggest annoyance with it is they cover a story or event, that in no way is of national interest. Like this story for instance (Why are they covering this? This isn't of national significance): https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/northeast/connecticut-school-teacher-uses-hip-hop-to-help-homeless-community/
  17. Newsjunkie24: The News with Shepard Smith is a much better newscast than News Nation!!! It's certainly feels like a national newscast unlike news nation.
  18. Cool, I'll be curious to see how well it does. (It will be NBC Weather Plus 2.0, with search lights )
  19. Are mission broadcasting stations off the air as well due to the dispute with Nexstar Media & Dish Network? Or is Mission on a different contract?
  20. The question is this, who stays off longer? Tegna stations on DirecTV/AT&T or Nexstar stations on Dish Network? I'm thinking Dish Network on this, they seem to have a nack for dragging things out.
  21. KUSA is reporting this morning that in Denver this dispute is only affecting KUSA/NBC programing for now. I havn't seen the crawl on KTVD at all & the KTVD website doesn't have the "Attention AT&T/DirecTV customers" banner on there website.
  22. For the first time since April 2009, so 11 1/2 years KUSA went back to a double anchor format today for the NOON newscast. Personally I think that is a bit overkill, considering the majority of what they do on that newscast is show packages from News Channel. I liked the single anchor format.
  23. How is it not ethical? They pay licensing fees to the F.C.C. just like other stations, or is it there political leaning?? If it's not ethical then should NBC not be on KSL-TV? That's owned by Bonneville International Corp--a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, which is owned outright by the LDS Church.
  24. What goes away first, News Net or News Nation?? There are parts of this operation that fell a little more polished than News Nation however news net really needs to work on updating it's website more frequently, today they have posted no new news articles. YIKES!
  25. KSTU Launched scripps music & graphics yesterday 9/16/20. Dumping the FOX Affiliate News Theme by OSI after 12 years.
