  1. Reporter Reha Jah formerly of KXRM FOX21 NEWS /  KXTU SoCo CW has moved north to Denver and is now a reporter for Denver duopoly KUSA--9NEWS NBC / KTVD--Channel 20.  Her first day on air was today 3/29.

  2. A lot of you will disagree with me on this but, I think Scripps should have right of first refusal at WPIX seeing how they once owned it.   Or better yet, shake down mission broadcasting & force mission into being it's own company (it will never happen), prohibit Nexstar from doing ANYTHING for Mission stations nationwide (Websites, ad sales, ect). I'm happy that the FCC is finally taking some action against Nexstar & Mission.

  3. 1 hour ago, KRAP-TV said:

Former KUSA 9 News meteorologist Danielle Grant is joining KMGH Denver 7 News in April. This news comes as the current chief meteorologist at KMGH Mike Nelson plans his retirement later this year.

Sounds like she will be taking the weekend position for now.  I know KMGH / KCDO had a weekend opening for sometime on the scrips employment page.   Good for her!!!!!

  4. Comcast no longer carries KPJR-TV here in Denver (Greeley) on it's systems, according to the Channel finder.  In northeast Colorado it is over the air only on 38.2, I have never been able to receive 38.1 or 38.2 where I live in Denver County, there transmitter is 38.8 miles northeast of me.   I don't see Dr. Phil's cable network surviving, tbh...

  5. CNBC is reporting this evening that ESPN, FOX & Warner Brothers/Discovery are going to launch a yet to be named streaming service for sports, don't know much more than that yet.  (Notably absent from this are Comcast's NBC Universal  &  Capital Amusements CBS).

  6. KDVR / KFCT (FOX31) & KWGN (Colorado's Own Channel 2) employees that work the combined assignment desk & the Nexstar master control hub for a dozen Nexstar TV stations across the country intend to unionize according to an article posted on the station's website yesterday.   If this comes to pass they would be the 2nd & 3rd Denver TV stations to Unionize after KCNC "CBS NEWS Colorado" went union in late 1995 after being acquired by Group W/CBS.    I also have this up on my blog about Denver TV stations that can be found in my profile.

  7. WBBH has updated it's website (NBC-2.COM) to the Hearst web platform as of today & Hearst Managed--WZVN has followed suite (ABC-7.COM).

Both stations dropped the Franke Media powered websites, that had been in use since 2016.

  8. The 4 O'clock newscast is being done from the stations front lobby. As seen below on the left.

    We'll see about the 5PM & 6PM/"NEXT" broadcasts.

Does anyone know if they are doing maintenance or updating things in studio "A"?

The NOON newscast was in studio "A" this afternoon.

  9. Don't know if other Tegna NBC stations are doing this or not, but KUSA is copying  the TODAY Show & NBC NIGHTLY NEWS, with a coutdown clock during the first commercial break during the10PM newscast.  (It might also be on KTVD but have not watched the 9pm newscast.) They started this Monday 8/13/23..

  10. KUSA / KTVD Sports director Rod Mackey announced  that he is signing off today after 23 years at KUSA. He is not saying what his future plans are just yet.

No one has been named Sports director yet.

He is the 4th longest tenured on air person currently at KUSA.

  11. So Direc TV is saying on their looping blackout screen on KDVR / KFCT & KWGN that Dish Network has had Nexstar stations off of their service since January 2023. Is this true? Are nexstar stations not currently on Dish Network?

    Thanks...

  12. Would someone explain something to me please?   Why do so many Tegna stations have QVC, QVC2, SHOP LC, & HSN on their digital sub channels?  Does Tegna make bank off of these sub channels??  It would seem to me that something like Movies! or Weather Nation TV or Comet would do better at retaining viewers??

    • KTVD  (SHOP LC)

    • KONG (QVC)

    • KING (QVC2)

    • WXIA (SHOP LC)

    • WATL (QVC)

    • KPNX (SHOP LC)

    • WOI (QVC & QVC2)

    • WFAA (SHOP LC)

    • KHOU (SHOP LC)

    • KMPX (SHOP LC & QVC2)

    • KREM (SHOP LC & QVC2)

    • WZZM (QVC & SHOP LC)

    • KARE (HSN)

  13. Okay this is just me thinking out loud here...

    • KBCW > KRON
    • KMAX > NO OPTIONS
    • KSTW> KONG
    • WKBD>WADL Sub Channel
    • WPCW>WTAE OR/WPGH Sub Channels
    • WTOG>NO OPTIONS
    • WPSG>NO OPTIONS
    • WUPA>WPCH OR/WANF Sub Channels

So I only see the CW missing in 3 markets here after CBS drops them.  My Network TV is without stations in 24 Markets, they will do just fine!!!
