  1. Jim is taking more and more time off. Indicator of something.
  2. Yes about a little less than 4 years before WFIL TV became WPVI TV . The 1963 Triangle logo was still used by channel 6 even after the current logo debuted. By April 1970 when action news debuted the 1967 logo started to be used full time and the 1963 logo was retired.
  3. The 6 logo looks the same as it did when it debuted in September 1967 to denote color presentations.
  4. Of course the 6 is iconic its been around since 1967 before action news was thought of. At first I believe it was first used to denote a color program.
  5. I wonder when WPVI TV 6abc will roll out the new abc logo to match its 54 year old egg shaped 6 logo. That logo has been in place since 1967 although it rolled out very slowly until becoming the full time logo when action news premiered in 1970. I would think a complete overhaul of the logo would be a big mistake for channel 6 viewers resist change , and they went through this with the short lived action news theme. in 1996.
  6. Jeanette Reyes left a year or so ago to join a Fox station in DC i believe and FOX News , but very rarely does a WPVI reporter leave the station, unless he or she retires.
  7. That was the short lived theme for Action News, within 3 or 4 days after numerous phone calls and complaints, the original 1972 theme and the close used since late 1975 was reinstated. Channel 6s viewers are resistant to change, a year or so later they tried to use the close from 6abc this has been action news and have the reporters closings mention im ----- 6abc action news within days after viewer complaints, they changed back to saying channel 6. Imagine what the reaction would be if channel 6 abc decided to change their station logo used since 1967(at first to denote a color presentation), viewers would be livid. 6abc started doing the olympics midnight update possibly in 2006.
  8. She probably made a mistake, on her post. Rob Jennings was still the solo anchorman for Action News on weekends back then. I believe the co anchoring was an experiment that lasted longer than expected. I wonder if Walter will go solo from here on in.
  9. Actually Sarah started anchoring Sundays in February 2014, they were trying out different anchors to replace Rob Jennings who retired the preceding July.
  10. Next Saturday 6abc is airing the Las Vegas Bowl, eventually they will add a Saturday 5pm newscast counterpart to the Sunday 5pm news
  11. I saw this in the tv week publication in the Bucks County Courier Times, obviously this publication wasn't accurate.
  12. Is it necessary to have 5pm weekend news ? Isnt this overkill? Also is Sarah co anchoring with Walter on the new Saturday news?
  13. From what I read in the tv listings, Action News is launching a 5pm Saturday newscast this Saturday, which was expected after the college football season(technically not over - conference championship week counts as regular season games). Are they going to have Walter and Sarah co anchor(as they have for Sunday newscasts since Rob Jennings retired 4 years ago after 36 years as weekend anchor) or is Walter anchoring solo, or are they going to have some else co anchor with Walter?
  14. Kinda odd isn't it to be interviewed by a rival television station?
