  1. The 2018 KFOR Anchor Desk - L to R - Brian Brinkley (Sports Director), Joleen Chaney (Linda Cavanaugh's Successor), Kevin Ogle, and Mike Morgan (Chief Meteorologist)
  2. This Just In: The WCSH iOS app has just been updated and now has the "News Center Maine" logo icon! In the description of the update, all it says is, "Branding Update."
  3. As per WLBZ's Wikipedia Page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLBZ "Although identifying as a separate station in its own right, WLBZ is considered a semi-satellite of sister station WCSH (channel 6) in Portland. WLBZ's master control, as well as some internal operations, are housed at WCSH's studios. It simulcasts most of WCSH's newscasts, and clears most of its syndicated programming (though in some cases at different times). There are also some programs that only air on WLBZ while some are only seen on WCSH. WLBZ also airs separate station identifications and commercials. Although WLBZ and WCSH are based in different locations and technically serve separate markets, the two essentially operate as one station. With their combined resources, the stations provide statewide coverage not offered by any other outlet in Maine. WLBZ serves as the default NBC affiliate for the Presque Isle market, which does not have an affiliate of its own." The "NewsCenter Maine" branding is years overdue. "NBC Maine" would also be acceptable.
  4. Here it is, screenshots of Linda Cavanaugh's final newscast at KFOR. You can watch LInda's final thought here - http://kfor.com/2017/12/15/linda-cavanaugh-says-goodbye-to-kfor-family-and-yours/ Now as Linda heads off into retirement, what's next for KFOR as the Sinclair/Tribune merger continues to unfold? Just another thought, the following KFOR on air personalities have been with the station since before the turn of the century: Tara Blume - 1991 Brian Brinkley - 1990 Galen Culver - c. 1991 Ali Meyer - 2000 Mike Morgan - 1993 Kevin Ogle - 1993 Kent Ogle - 1993 Sarah Stewart - 1999 Lance West - 1995 I do not have any reason seeing any of the following leaving KFOR anytime soon, personally, I'm just hoping that they can decide their future on their terms and not those of the heavens in Hunt Valley.
  5. Sorry about the font, I copied and pasted from their website, I've fixed it.
  6. Today is a bittersweet day in Oklahoma as KFOR dedicates studio to longtime anchor Linda Cavanaugh - http://kfor.com/2017/12/15/kfor-dedicates-studio-to-longtime-anchor-linda-cavanaugh/ Linda Cavanaugh is retiring today after 40 years at KFOR, which was known as KTVY when she started. I put it here in Out an About as I was not sure whether this should be a new thread or. Also, she is leaving with KFOR's ownership, and possibly NBC affailiation, uncertain going into 2018, it's currently a Tribune station.
  7. As per WPXT’s Wikipedia page, Ironwood is in the process of selling WPXT to Sincair, which would pair it up with WGME & WPFO, but there was no citation or other sources.
  8. It appears that Ion is returning to Maine as they started what is now WPFO as WMPX, thus I would not be surprised should WPME become WMPX. Personally, I would like to see someone take over the current WPFO and allow FOX to move to WGME’s stick and allow FOX to be on par with the other networks in western Maine.
  9. The coverage of both KJRW and KVIQ-LP are nearly the same! http://www.rabbitears.info/contour.php?appid=2007490&map=N&contour=Y&lppc=N&int=N&pop=N&incpop=&excpop=&z1=N&nrqz=N&lprw=N&head=Y&asrn=&extras=677310&cir=&circen=40.730277777778%2C-123.95305555556
  10. You can also add WGRZ & KING to the new layout list!
  11. First, who made you an expert on web page design? Second, if you don't like TEGNA's websites, don't go to any of them.
  12. As per RabbitEars, WSJZ-LD is licensed to Ocean View, NJ, and whose signal does not even think about touching the Delmarva region. What would Draper want with this station?
  13. Broadcast icon Linda Cavanaugh makes big announcement after celebrating 40 years at KFOR. http://kfor.com/2017/10/17/broadcast-icon-linda-cavanaugh-makes-big-announcement-after-celebrating-40-years-at-kfor/ She will be leaving the station in December as Joleen Chaney will succeed her in the anchor chair. As one reads the article, Cavanaugh went on today that she made the decision three years ago in order to give management time to locate a successor, Chaney, therefore, she is apparently not leaving to avoid Sinclair. As a long time KFOR viewer, I wonder how much longer other long time KFOR personalities, Kevin Ogle, Mike Morgan, and Lance West will stick around as they've all been with the station for 20 years or longer.
  14. With this deal done, I wonder what happens next, will KRNV and KRXI swap owners so that Sinclair owns the Channel 4 license while Cunningham owns the Channel 11 license; furthermore, with Elko actually in the Salt Lake City market, will KENV become a KUTV satellite and allow KSL to become the sole NBC station for the Nevada side to the market?
  15. I wonder whether Weigel has ever called Qunicy as to inquire as to whether WSJV was available as to possible return ABC to its original South Bend home and to full power status in Michiana. As for KNLC, aren't they a religious station at the moment? Would Weigel have to reprogram that station from scratch? In KAZA's case, this will finally put Pappas out of the TV business competely, moreover, it appears that they'll be sharing with KHTV-CD, which will warrant a COL change as the KHTV-CD signal does NOT reach Avalon.
  16. As a resident of Ada, Oklahoma, KTEN's city of license, I watch the ABC sub channel for "Jeopardy!" they'll be some general station ID's with the ABC 10 logo, and others with the ABC Texoma logo that were from 2010 when the channel originally launched. There is a Facebook page for ABC 10, where only the ABC 10 logo displays with no mention of the ABC Texoma logo. Personally, I have been hoping that Lockwood will eventually sell KTEN & KAKE to a better owner. I'll take Sinclair or Nexstar at this point.
  17. It appears that BOTH WABI and WCJB's respective websites, http://www.wabi.tv/ and http://www.wcjb.com/, have the Gray layout and new logos!
  18. I'm not seeing anything in the FCC database for a station in Lafayette, IN on channel 49.
  19. PineTreeStateProud.com - Future home of WCSH/WLBZ in Maine?
  20. Without looking at the numbers, my educated guess is that it's a three way race between KFOR, KOCO, and KWTV, not necessary in that order. At this time, neither of them are promoting themselves as the market leader. Regardless, of the ratings, I believe that Sinclair will have to divest either KOKH/KOCB or KFOR/KAUT.
  21. CBS would go to WUPA as they own that station with the CW either going to a subchannel or to elsewhere.
