  1. KLFY has now added a news ticker, along with sponsor bug & new time/temp/logo bug (this screenshot is from their 5p newscast)....
  2. HOW would it look cheap, I mean?
  3. Thanks for the info. I never even realized that at all....
  4. What's the matter, you don't like KLFY's "hurricane style" logo? It's been in use since the mid-70s (at least)! It'll be sad if Nexstar changes the logo, but to be fair, there have been times before that in which KLFY has had "acclaimed" logos! Case in point (this is from a blooper tape)....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGGxJAALlKk
  5. KLFY also has a chopper (Sky 10); it has been in use since at least the mid-80s! The only times it's ever used nowadays are for either post-hurricane coverage or for events like a natural gas well blowout in 2007 which caused Interstate 10 between Baton Rouge and Lafayette to be closed for a week and a half. Once "Sky 10" goes, it'll be the end of a long run.
  6. This story involves the channel TBD...http://toofab.com/2017/03/24/youtube-series-raises-questions-over-hollywood-ripping-off-digital-creators-exclusive/ It's worth a read; apparently the studio behind the web series "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries," "Emma Approved," and "Frankenstein, M.D.," struck a deal with TBD to air the programs on the subchannel. The weird parts are: 1. The Youtube videos of said shows were recut to 30 minutes to fit commercial breaks in 2. No one bothered to tell the actors, writers, producers or crews from each show 3. The shows started airing February, but it wasn't until March that an actor from one of the three shows found out Another actor from one of the series contacted SAG-AFTRA to ask about residuals; THIS part is worth a read! Who do you think is at fault here?? To me, this is like Fox re-airing the 2003 smash TV hit "Joe Millionaire" late on Saturday nights without telling the producers, Evan Marriott, or any of the people involved with the show!!
  7. What do you mean, "audience-repelling"?? As a fan of "Right This Minute" (truly), I think digital content will drive people TO sample this show. And besides, the article says the name of the show could possibly change, too. I could see this working on WWL (even though I live outside the New Orleans market); it would give new meaning to the name "Eyewitness News" (no joke)!!!
  8. Congrats to KETK-NBC on 30 years!!! :-)
  9. TBD? What sort of programming do they have on that channel?? A verbal description would gladly help......
  10. Wait....isn't Tom Skilling under contract to WGN for another 5 years (until 2022)??
  11. Yep! I remember very well! In those days, there was very little to no chemistry at all between Erica, Gayle, & Charlie. If you watch a clip of those first few months, it was painful to see. Since Norah came aboard to replace Erica, the show has gotten better and improved over time!
  12. Blue Rolfes' final newscast on KLFY in Lafayette, LA, after 38 years is taking place right now.........http://klfy.com/2017/03/01/watch-live-at-5-blue-rolfes-signs-off-after-38-years-at-klfy/
  13. Hello, everyone. Long time reader of TVNewstalk.net, and now a first-time poster! My two cents: CBS, by far, has the best morning show with "CBS This Morning," and suffice it to say, out of all the shows that CBS has tried since "Captain Kangaroo" went off the air, I think CBS finally struck gold with this attempt! It'll be great to see Charlie Rose come back once he returns from heart surgery. He, Norah O'Donnell, and Gayle King make an outstanding team! The main differences, in my opinion, between "CBS This Morning" and its competitors (aside from screaming spectators outside on the other shows) is that they utilize CBS anchors and correspondents and guest experts frequently, and they leave the booking battles to their competitors. Not many awkward moments to speak of, either!! So, this is my first post. I'm sure there a lot of people on this board who will agree with my two cents on "CBS This Morning"! :-)
