  1. Check this out; Byron Allen possibly owning stations!! https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/234683/byron-allen-buying-bayou-city-tvs-for-165m/
  2. KATC now has the Scripps lighthouse closing animation to end their newscasts....
  3. Being that the Scripps ownership is official for the now-former Cordillera stations (e.g., WLEX & KATC), I have to ask: On WLEX (as of today), does the newscast conclude with an in-text copyright mentioning Scripps, or does Scripps’ lighthouse closing animation appear at the end of the newscast, or both???
  4. Hopefully, someone posts a video with their new open very soon (how will viewers like the "C Clarity" music, I wonder??).....
  5. Oh, I almost forgot....Swans Crossing, in 1992 (with a young Sarah Michelle Gellar, pre-All My Children & Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, among others, as the lead). This show was targeted toward teens, and aired mostly on the Tribune stations, if I'm not mistaken. Shout! Factory TV has all the episodes available for streaming on its website....
  6. Yes. Rituals in 1984-85. There are at least two promos that are on YouTube (and I think there might be at least 1 episode posted there as well)....
  7. Not sure why, but as of last Saturday (2/23), WAFB in Baton Rouge, LA, is no longer available on Cox Cable in Lafayette. Not sure if this is due to a monetary dispute, or if it might be that Gray Television (WAFB's new owner) doesn't want a CBS affiliate in one market broadcasting in another market that already has a CBS station (in this case, Lafayette & KLFY); a sad end of an era, as people in the Lafayette market have been able to catch WAFB for as long as their signal has reached the Lafayette area.... Are there any other examples of Gray-owned stations doing this (i.e., a Gray-owned network affiliate in one market pulling its signal from a cable system in another market that already has an affiliate of said network)????
  8. Let’s not forget that “Live!” has been on WWL since the program’s launch in syndication back in ‘88 with Regis & Kathie Lee. Back then, it aired at 8am, preceding CBS programming at 9a (e.g., the daytime version of “Family Feud” w/Ray Combs, among others), and later, syndicated programming. “Live!” moved to 9a when the morning news expanded into the 8a hour on WWL in 2004, if I’m not mistaken.....
  9. I don’t understand this move, either.... But, you know what? Suppose Tegna would have kept the 7-9a portion of Eyewitness Morning News on WWL, in addition to having Great Day Louisiana on at 9a. It would have made, I think, 5 1/2 hours straight of locally produced news/programming in the morning on WWL, and their ratings probably would have been higher, as a result....
  10. Or maybe the Garland Robinette & Angela Hill of Cincinnati... The main difference, however, between the Dardis/Paolello relationship and that of the aforementioned Garland/Angela and Chet/Nat relationships, is that Dardis and Paolello each have children from previous marriages/relationships (info courtesy of the bios on the WLWT website). So there's that....
  11. This story speaks for itself.....https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/12/10/sinclair-sacks-sick-anchor
  12. Wow. I didn’t know about the KOBI/KOTI logo; it is small, but I wouldn’t say it looks worse than KTXA’s logo....
  13. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a TV station’s logo resemble an interstate sign. There is at least one radio station I know of that has a similar logo (KYKZ-FM in Lake Charles, LA), but their logo utilizes the complete interstate logo design, whereas KTXA’s interstate logo doesn’t.....
  14. Fusion was the name of the ABC venture. Also, let us not forget that Liberman Broadcasting was the venture behind the infamous Spanish talk show “Jose Luis Sin Censura” (basically the Spanish language version of “Jerry Springer”); that show, if I’m not mistaken, got SEVERAL of Liberman’s stations (if not the entire company) in hot water with the FCC several years ago.....
  15. This may sound hokey, but what is more likely to happen, the 9 a.m. hour anchored by Today anchor/regulars followed by Kathie Lee & Hoda, or Kathie Lee/Hoda at 9a followed by a revamped Today's Take, in some form? Also, I agree that four hours of Today is too long, but my guess is that NBC doesn't want to shorten the program because they most likely would be losing valuable ad revenue if they did, right?
  16. Since Scripps bought them, have the ratings or audience for WKBW improved?
  17. Um, I would hope not!! This means that there is another lady at the anchor table to give John Dickerson more trouble every morning LOL!! He is now FAR outnumbered (3 females [Gayle, Norah, & Bianna] and 1 male [John Dickerson]!! :D:D Fear not, CBS This Morning is 75 TIMES better than the Early Show ever was throughout its run, for many reasons (too many to list here)!!
  18. Now what's wrong with MeTV??? It's a GREAT place for classic TV shows (on free TV, no less)!! It's also an opportunity for stations to make extra money (in my market, local ads run throughout the day on the channel).... Just saying....
  19. Thank you for the info, Weeters; apparently NXT must be popular among trademarks (ha ha ha)!! :D
  20. Unfortunately, NXT is the name of the developmental league for WWE (i.e., a place for up-and-coming wrestlers and those just starting out to hone their craft in terms of promos, in-ring ability, and the like), so Tegna cannot use NXT in promos..... But they’ll find something more creative (this is Tegna we’re talking about, after all).....
  21. I'm curious: If KHOU is 3rd or sometimes 4th in the morning in Houston, what other station in the market would be #2 at the time (behind KTRK)??
  22. Thanks for the info; I must have been looking at an outdated list, apparently....
  23. 1pm?! "Jeopardy"?! In the 10th largest market (Houston)????
