Actually, I am not concerned about them working overtime (well I guess it's a pain) and you completely missed the point of my post/rant (which I guess I had not mentioned) I hate that they run late because it screws up the shows that follow it, and my DVR recording of those shows. If the games are never going to end on time, they should just schedule additional time so there is at least a chance of the following shows starting on time.

Just saw a commercial advertising Hazel starting Monday.

And it sucks whenever it happens (even worse when they say "wait we have another game to switch to!"). Sorry for the rant.

Ugh, and it's 11:06 and the game still has "six" minutes left, which probably means it won't be over until at least 11:30. Amusingly, the news was supposed to be on at the regular time. I hate football season with the late running games. Update - the game ended over an hour late. Almost as pathetic as the Giants losing again.

I thought I saw a comment from Kala that it was not her decision to leave the morning anchor slot. If Betty didn't like the morning grind, she's certainly not going to want to move to 5-7am, unless she wants the opportunity to be home before her kids leave for school.

Well, the powers that be clearly didn't see then being as good as Hazel. If they wanted to move Kala back to the anchoring in the morning, she would have been there by now. Personally, I can't see Betty moving to the early show as being the move since it would be a demotion.

Has she been on recently? I don't watch when she's on, and she isn't very active on social media. Of course, she could be going to FOX5, in spite of nynewslover just saying that they need a male presence. Still odd for a replacement to be named before the current occupant has announced that they are leaving.

Per the WCBS thread, Hazel Sanchez just announced on IG that she is the new 7-11am co-anchor of the WPIX Morning News. Had Betty announced that she was leaving?

Although many here would approve, I find it hard to believe that they'd bring back Kala after they dumped her from that spot.

So, this is slightly off-topic, but still related to the news broadcasts. Does anyone here who watches them streamed (or is familiar with them) know why they don't show some commercials and instead put up the "We'll be right back" graphic? It only seems to happen during local news broadcasts. I'm guessing that they are trying to sell advertising slots to reach streaming customers, but can't understand why they wouldn't just show what's on the broadcast if they do not have something else to show. All other WABC programming, including the network news, shows the normal commercials (or seems to, at least it doesn't put up a graphic instead of a commercial)

Yes, that surprised me. Also, Stacey posted a picture of her, Kerry and Tom Blair, who is an ENG/cameraman, saying they are all leaving today. I wonder if there was some sort of buyout offer? But you'd think that would not apply to all areas, so likely just coincidence. BTW Kerry's real name was actually Kerry Drew Ederer before she got married last year, and currently goes by Kerry Ederer Stiller according to her FB page.

Stacey Delikat posted on Instagram that last night was has last report on the 10pm news and tomorrow is her last day at the station. She says that she's moving onto new things, which presumably means real estate, since she got her real estate license during Covid and recently moved to a new firm that she says is #1 in the area. Based on her Instagram, she was unemployed for several months (not clear if her choice or theirs). So her situation is different from many others who go right from News12 to the networks.
